Good sirs, if you are going to have the balls to charge 25 dollars for a Calabrese salad then, for the love of god, the tomatoes better not be CRUNCHY. And the cheap arse everyday toms from the supermarket. 😡 It’s only three ingredients FFS.

This is what I get for thinking I am going to have a little early treat because I have been disciplined this year so far. Back to home cooked.

I didn’t know that Baci chocolates come with a quote inside. This one I had was this: “Love life more than its logic, for only then will you grasp its meaning”

I went to St Patrick’s in November, visiting from Adelaide. An amazing building, very beautiful interior

      That’s a view and a half.

Weird story. Went to St. patricks cathedral with an ex and her aunt (who was a devout catholic). She was bangin’ on about how god was everywhere ‘like the internet’. ‘In walls, in the air’. A few hours earlier she asked me to set up her wifi / chuck in the router password on her phone to use ex’s internet at ex’s home… so I asked her if god forgets his password too.

      Didn’t go down too well.

Arrrgh, adaway via VPN is not blocking in-app ads and I am SEETHING - it’s like getting STDs on your phone, these disgusting full screen sound on ads are absolute cancer after decades of blocking ads successfully.

Will need to hope and pray the DNS blocklist method works again later this week

finally got to a ripe strawberry before whatever is eating them (despite being net’ed I might ad). God it was good! Only 1, and not massive but it was so sweet and flavorful how do you ever go back to store brought ones after that?!

You don’t. Homegrown strawbs have spoiled me for life. As has homegrown asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and green beans. And quite a lot of other veg that I haven’t grown for a while now. But home strawbs a pretty damn special.

Yass! Nothing compares. I would suggest planting in pretty much pure compost in a barrel or similar. Once it starts to yield though be prepared for asparagus for breakfast lunch and dinner for a few weeks. But so so good.

I shall pickle it! Haven’t been able to find the supermarket one I like for ages. I have several Hex beds. Once I get the sunlight pattern figured out this is happening.

man dont talk to me about tomatoes at the moment. tomatoes are probably the biggest stress point in my life right now. Got a decent amount but still very very green and the plants are clearly in distress.

Everyday, I wake up and I feel like I haven’t really woken up until night time. So I go the whole day metaphorically staring into space.

Maybe I need to start taking iron tablets again.

Friend: You should get married someday. You seem like the type.

    Me: Why?

Friend: So you can give us red pockets. 🧧Married people are supposed to give them out.

    Just now:

Can confirm, have received these at Chinese(ish) weddings.
The time I was Best Man at such a wedding, I probably broke even - which is saying something as I spent a fair bit on that wedding (good friends).

[Chinese(ish) because not all the couples were actually Chinese. The Best Man one was Malaysian; another wedding was Singaporean]

I’m worried so many plants are going to get burnt leaves

maybe I can cover them with an old sheet when the sun is directly on them

Yeah, or maybe some shade cloth?

There are shade cloth triangles you can stretch over an area tying at the corners but you need something to tie it to like a fence. If you don’t you can make a temporary box frame of pipes and drape a sheet over.

I have a cat enclosure I could use for the purpose but it’s too small to use with how I spaced the pumpkins out in the ground. And the tomatoes with their stakes are too tall.

If I could have prepared better and had more money I would have had some kind of plan. I don’t really have the time or energy to sort it out beyond pulling the smaller pots in and giving the bigger/in ground plants water -_-

Loooong day. Just got home & showered. I drove home and don’t feel like I was concentrating at all. You know when you drive on familiar roads and wonder how on earth you got home? I’m that level of exhausted.

I’m having a sleep in tomorrow.
