  • Here’s a quote from the ETU:

We’ve had Royal commissions into the severe misconduct of the banking and finance sector, the Robodebt scandal, and the aged care sector. Each of these Royal commissions had DAMMING FINDINGS, yet NOT ONE person lost their job, NOT ONE company was put into administration, and NOBODY went to JAIL!

The CFMEU on the other hand - one of Australia’s strongest unions, is now FORCED straight into administration on the back of a handful of rumours and allegations.

    The HYPOCRISY is staggering!!

We call on all jobs to stop at 10am this Tuesday to support the CFMEU and attend a Rally at the State Library[*] 11am sharp!

Let’s fight for our wages and conditions!
    Let’s fight for the future!
    Let’s all stand together!
    SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

    * Note the venue has genuinely changed to Trades Hall as of about 11 AM today.

  • I saw on Twitter someone mentioned there are browser addons for Chrome/Edge that put historical prices on Coles and Woolworths websites, and I know it’s not super groundbreaking to highlight how specials aren’t really “special”, but it does make for some interesting insights. e.g.

This pasta has been “on special” for 53 days. Isn’t that just the normal price, at this point?

And we’ve all noticed the products that go on special every other week, but seeing it in graph form really makes you wonder what the true price of your laundry detergent is:

They extensions arw called “Coles Trend” and “Woolworths Trend”. I’m not sure how long they will work though before they get blocked/banned/disabled somehow. (Would personally love a version of this for the likes of Chemist Warehouse, it’s always so tricky to figure out whether their discounts/catalogues are real or not.)
