Back from my week off in NZ. Absolutely stunning scenery all around, it was just one incredible vista after another and I wondered how this place was real.

Had a couple days skiing as well, thankfully I remembered how to snowboard even though the last time I was at the snow was something like 8 years ago, much fun had. One aspect I had forgotten is how bloody expensive skiing is. It was more worth it for this trip because I wasn’t just going there for skiing, but I can’t imagine sinking that kind of money to go to the Victorian ski resorts.

Back at it today and still exhausted even after two recovery sleeps, not even the wind could keep me awake last night. I think I’ve reached the age where I need my own accom when going away with a group of friends, because I was only getting 5 - 6 hours of sleep in our Airbnb house every night and while I didn’t really feel it there, as soon as I got home it all hit me.

Apparently I missed a lot of wind?! My backyard looked like it had been trashed.

And now torrential rain with crazy wind, holy crap

Round 2 is coming and wow the lightning is so cool to watch, very flashy this time.

Skies are dark but I’m getting no action yet. A red blob on the radar is making a bee line for my suburb but we’ll see. Love a good storm.

Drains blocked again, second time in 6 months this has happened. A call out fee on a Saturday for plumbers does not come cheap. And if it’s tree roots again in the same spot as last time, I’ll have to get the drains re-lined to plug the holes that the roots are getting in. Which is $$$. I did say if this happened again I’d do the re-lining, now I have to. Crap start to the weekend.

This work week has been a GRIND. Almost there but I’ll be crawling to the finish line. Then a week off next week, really looking forward to a short break. Thinking a second coffee is in order.

By the time you add luggage and food (not going to eat for 9+ hours??) it ends up not being much cheaper if at all.

Yep I’ve got a bedside table draw full of tangled random cables and my Kindle lives in there too. Somehow I can pick out the cable I need without too much fuss, but it def could be tidied up. It’s on the list to do someday.

I took (as a souvenir) a whole bunch of stationery when I quit my last job, I have so much.

Feeling exactly like this tonight. We got this but wow that overly tired feeling is just the worst.

House clean (mostly), still need to scrub the shower and fold laundry but that can happen tomorrow as that’s enough housework for one day. Enjoying an arvo coffee in the sun (it’s turned out to be a pretty nice day), going to get a quick workout in before dinner out tonight.

The warm sun streak ends tomorrow. Sigh, it was nice to feel like I was in a warm exotic location, being able to wear shorts without being cold, no heating required, did wonders for my mood.

Also got Gen Z. I’d love to know how this works. Is it based on when the music was released? If the artist is from a certain generation? I don’t get it.

I just came to post this, hit 11:30am and suddenly the chorus of lawn mowers and gardening equipment began!

I’m going to the snow at the end of the month and have been messaging a friend I let borrow my ski clothes and equipment two years ago. They just never gave me back my stuff and I forgot about it to now. I’m a bit annoyed they just kept my things, and now my goggles are missing and I don’t remember if I let them borrow. It shouldn’t be up to me to remember and ask for my stuff back, you should give it back once you are done with it without prompt.

Loving this insider knowledge! I freaked out thinking the gas company is going to try and claim that I used that much gas and make me pay for it, and the first person I spoke to at the gas company only heightened my anxiety. He put me through to someone more senior who was way more helpful, straightaway she said based on those numbers there’s a problem. I’ve got several meter reading photos from the past 24 hours, and my bills with evidence of past usage to show how out of line this new meter is reading at.

Thanks! I called the gas company and they put me through to AusNet who installed the new meter. They’re sending someone out tonight to check if there’s a leak. There has to be, or this meter is giving faulty readings, because the usage is just not possible. I also switched the gas off at the meter just in case.
