I’m seeing a bunch of trees down in my area and feeling nervous about the ones near my house. Debating whether to move the bed into the other room temporarily as it might be safer

I got back home with my dental x-ray and decided to take a peek. Discovered an x-ray with more teeth than I actually have, in much better condition. Unfortunately they were unable to swap my teeth to match the x-ray, so I had to drive back and pick up the right x-ray instead. I should probably be annoyed at the waste of time, but I’m too busy being relieved that I discovered the error before my dental appointment tomorrow.

Magpie update : nest no longer in tree. No hope for the baby chicks as only 10 days out of the egg at most. Mrs maggie was seen this morning gathering nesting material, so maybe maybe maybe will lay more eggs. Wishing her the very best of luck. Young male maggie nowhere in sight this morning.

Unfortunately not. Tree is in the backyard of a known anti-vegetation anti-mess maven. That is, a person who dug up ALL the bare earth in the backyard except for the tree (which is huuge and on the council register) and replaced it with tamped gravel and astroturf to save on mowing. Has been known to apply roundup to the nature strip in the street at the first hint of a weed, and talks frequently about hating ‘mess’. Not generally liked as a person.

Came through the storm just fine aside from being woken up at 2:30 and 4:30. Cats are fine, in fact Sammi is back to her old self or nearly so (she hasn’t been too hungry since the scan).
Just about to go for a dental appointment - wish me luck with the drive!

I didn’t see anything serious on my quick trip out this morning. There’s only a few branches on the ground but I’m sure there are areas near me that copped it more

Trying to get through first level of organisations these days is truly excruciating. The enshittification of everything is real.

That’s because the way things are going, there likely IS no next level. It’s punchingbags/shitkickers, then empty space, then “management”.

Things do not get done because all the workers got the arse.

Cherry blossom getting there through the wind:

Next to pop are the echiums. Both flower almost concurrently and creates a sort of bee super highway as they go back and forth that you can hear from 10m+ away.

Went to sleep in the foothills of the Dandenongs. With all the noise last night, surprised the house isn’t now in Kansas…

Five-year-old woke up at 3:30am upset from all the noise, and that was pretty much the end of our sleep for the night!

Everything appeared intact this morning at least. Dream drive in to work, nobody on the roads - I’m very jealous of the WFH-brigade!!!

Miniest couldn’t get to sleep at first due to the noise, then wouldn’t stay asleep. Didn’t help having a half demolished house down the road, lots of banging and loose sheet metal type of noises. If I sent her to school she’d fall asleep at her desk, which she’s done before, so she can stay home. Wish I could too, but I’m off to work in an unusually empty bus.

This part of Mernda is a weird spot. The sun is out here, but it can be raining on the other side of Plenty Road or just down at the next train station. It might be the big hill to the southwest of here

A win at work I was quite proud of got derailed by a sudden request that blew out my while afternoon.

I’m writing my own documentation on Marketing Cloud because it feels like the sort of program you only learn to use by making every mistake first

So I noticed a company had put up a poorly redacted screenshot of a customer order, so basically they just gave away a person’s name, email address and physical address on Instagram.

    What would you do?

    1. Inform the victim

    2. Inform the vendor

    3. Contact OAIC

    4. Email 131444

I remember I had some compliance training on this recently. Maybe start with informing the vendor and if you don’t like their response, go to the victim and the OAIC

Oh, how cool’s that? I literally just finished my TAFE class, got out, and this is the first thing I see. We just had an assessment about privacy breaches and the complaints process, and this was basically my answer for the complaints process

Strong agree with what you said. Although personally, I do somewhat feel a moral responsibility to tell the victim. It’s a tricky one though, especially if you go to the vendor as well, there may be some blowback because they know who told the victim, and if they stop working with the vendor, I imagine they’re likely to blame OP.

Tldr: vendor first, then victim and OAIC is the advisable and smart approach, victim first then the vendor is the less smart approach, but also the one I think I’d feel compelled to take
