  • Dentist went alright for me too. I went to a new one that’s more of a community type one that’s mostly subsidised. Because I’m under 18, it doesn’t really matter where I go, I don’t personally pay for any of that (it’s either covered under school medical, the Medicare subsidies, or worst case child protection will pay for it), but I thought it’d be a good idea to switch to somewhere I can actually afford to go to once I age out as well. He cleaned my teeth, but didn’t use any of that nice fluoride stuff my last one used. Just that water spray thing with that little standby tool on the end that sounds like someone scratching a plate with a streak knife.

My teeth, surprisingly, aren’t as fucked as I was expecting. But I need a filling and all of my wisdom teeth are impacted, so I have to go back in a month for the filling, and get a referral to the dental hospital to have my wisdom teeth out. Scary stuff. No fun

Edit: it’s just dawning on me that I’ve never had any sort of operation before that involves anaesthesia. That’s the scariest of the parts

  • In Melbourne we do this thing where we let developers build suburbs with zero infrastructure, refuse to put buses or other public transport in when asked because it’s “not viable”, then a decade later we will put a bus route in, but then bitch and whinge because nobody’s catching it. Then maybe 5 or 6 decades after that, we’ll order a feasibility study to see if we should build a train station there, then it’ll be deemed to expensive and we’ll wait another century before deciding to spend insanely high amounts of money on either building an underground station, or acquiring a shit ton of land.

If somebody would use their damn brains and realise it is cheaper and easier to at the very least plan for and reserve land in these new developments for public transport, and these new suburbs would stop being opened without bus stops, supermarkets, and GP clinics, we’d all be better off…

  • Going to the dentist is one of those things that absolutely fucking sucks, but sucks less than the alternative of not going to the dentist, unfortunately.

The lack of stability and positive role models in my life has led to having some absolutely fucked teeth. Today is going to hurt, but if I get all of my work done before March, I won’t have to pay for any of it. After that, though, I think my teeth are going to be held on with tape and prayers (or more accurately toothpaste, mouthwash, Panadol, and prayers)

  • I’ve always thought of dreams as basically being simulations and ways to prepare and consider the outcomes of certain things, even though they’re often unrealistic.

When things were abusive at the last place, I often had dreams about what would happen if I reacted. They usually involved going too far and someone dying. Then me rotting away in prison for the rest of my life (until I woke up). If it wasn’t for those dreams, I probably would’ve fought back. I don’t and never will know if that was for good or bad, but it definitely helped me gain some perspective

I mostly get my games through steam, which allows you to set multiple library locations, and then asks which drive you want them installed on. Besides that, every game or program installer I’ve ever used has asked me which drive I want it installed onto, although sometimes you need to check the custom install box first
