Had a lovely night out last night with a new group - great group, we all want to get together again.
Also, after a little throw up last night, I think after eating some of Zooki’s leftovers, Sammi not only got up for breakfast scarfed down a saucer of food and sampled a little more. She’s been off her food since the ultrasound so a huge relief…
Alas sleep was not had - I was finally drifting off when Zooks hopped up for snuggles and Feed Me, Bitch demands.
I’m doing the zombie shuffle at the moment so I’ll just take it easy today and try and get a nap in before tonight’s social thing.
Got woken up by the wind blowing a gale and remembered the cats’ fuzzy basket bed was still on the line, so dashed out to retrieve it.
Just as well as the side door to the garage had blown open.
Back to bed, hopefully to sleep…
Outcome of the ultrasound with Sammi - no obvious tumours or obstruction. Enlarged lymph nodes in her stomach, so they want to proceed with the other ultrasound and take some samples. Meanwhile she’s home alert and hungry.
In other news there was a three vehicle stack in the middle of Main Street Mordialloc on the way home. Hopefully it’s cleared by now…
More of a spray here (we got the heavy earlier) fortunately just as I dropped the papou home. And fortunately over by the time I picked up Sammi. Can’t say the same for the wind, much to her chagrin.

Update - there was a miscommunication and Sammi was booked for next Wednesday for her ultrasound. Fortunately they do have an in-house machine and one of the vets is very proficient in its use, so just waiting to hear the outcome of that.
Meanwhile took Zooks in later to see the senior vet as her ears have been rashy and he suggested (with Sammi) that it may have been gastro, and since she does like raw chicken… it’s possible. Meanwhile I have to give Zooks eardrops for a week. Wish me luck…
Just took Sammi for her ultrasound - poor love hadn’t been herself all yesterday to the point where I phoned the vet again - they suggested admitted her overnight but there wouldn’t have been anyone there so I decided to keep her home. Wise choice - the wind woke us both up at 3 and she was straight off with the snuggles and purrs and this morning she was demanding breakfast - unfortunately I couldn’t give her it since it’s a fasting procedure.
Now having a coffee and cake in Mentone while I wait for the school traffic to clear.

Just got Sammi home - it’s like she’s back to normal. She actually scarfed Zooki’s roo mince which she wasn’t supposed to have, inhaled the Hills vet food that she was, used the tray and is walking around reacquainting herself with the place.
If you saw her Wednesday and then today, the only difference in her is the shaved spot where they took the bloods. Oh and no purrs - I might be on her shit list for awhile.
Anyway ultrasound Wednesday, they’re going to let me know what time.

Vet just called - as before, nothing detected in the external examination and nothing in the blood tests. They’re going to x-ray her and if nothing shows up on that, organise an ultrasound. Also they’ll give her fluids and an anti nausea injection since she has been vomiting on and off since Thursday.
Any improvement Sammi had was minimal, so I phoned the vet and they’ve admitted her for observation and further tests (including hopefully an abdominal ultrasound).
Cross fingers for us.

Sammi woke me at 4:00 for snuggles and purrs. Not exactly complaining, given the circumstances.
She requested breakfast a little later, and after a little trial and error, chicken creamy treats seem to be the way to go.
Still going to take her back for a follow up with the senior vet as soon as I can, but I’m a lot more hopeful than I was yesterday.
Came through the storm just fine aside from being woken up at 2:30 and 4:30. Cats are fine, in fact Sammi is back to her old self or nearly so (she hasn’t been too hungry since the scan).
Just about to go for a dental appointment - wish me luck with the drive!
