Reference has been given. Sounds like it went well! Thanks again to the poster here who was able to help me with that. Very much in their debt.

Now I’ll get a call from the recruiter later today or tomorrow which will give me the final word that we are all a go for next week.

    Fingers crossed!

So tomorrow I don’t have anything happening until the early afternoon. That means I can have the sleep in I feel like I needed a week ago. But since I can get so much more sleep than normal, what do we think is going to happen?

    1. I wake up at my usual time and can’t get back to sleep
    2. Every single person I’ve ever met starts trying to call, text, and email me out of absolutely nowhere. That random inquiry I sent to a shop 7 months ago they ignored will finally be responded to
    3. Someone will knock at the door
    4. I can’t sleep at all until 30 minutes before I need to wake up
    5. I actually do manage to get a good sleep and finally catch up on my sleep debt

Place your bets now! In 6-12 hours, I’ll respond to the winner(s). I don’t know what you win yet, I’m fresh out of barnstars from the last comp, but maybe you can have a giant emoji

    Medical procedures, vomiting, death mention

This is great… I’m now vomiting liquid more frequently, cold all the time, getting dehydrated and sleeping a lot. My stomach is slowly shutting down and my doctor is telling me that I’m at risk of sudden death from malnutrition.

I’ve been trying to get a feeding tube for a while but the medical system is very slow and obstructive so I have a weird sense that I possibly might not make it.

I still haven’t bought any other characters lol. Just got frosty up to level 7, so 30% more dmg against frozen targets.

I do want to try the blood mage, she looks sick AF! They all do tbh. The non-binary butterfly blade looks cool as well

The blood mage is unique in that you have to take damage to attack. So her built in skills, will always damage her (in a fairly small way) to inflict significant damage on enemies.

It’s a whole different way to think about the game. So shields mean very little, and you have to get used to the idea of sacrifcing health to win. She’s the one I got to the final boss of depth level 3 with. It was just too hard. I had something like 250 full health, got down to the last of 3 enemies, then got smashed with 50+ point attacks in a row.

I’m using the paladin robot character at the moment, and it’s damage is insane. I got through all of depth level 1, only losing 7 health the whole time, and that was at the boss level lol

Aw man I’ve been eyeing off Paladin! But yeah, I’m gonna have to grind a bit to even think about getting up to even the mid-boss on depth 3 haha.

I might grab the blood mage today, I think you’ve convinced me!

Fuck yeah! I think every character you unlock is stronger than the last.

Blood mage was amazing, but paladin has a whole other style of play. Takes getting used to but when they’re “super charged”, they do 60% more damage per attack.

I wish there is a product where it combines the responsiveness, seamlessness and app integrations of Siri with the data sources of Google Assistant, that is available on iPhone 13.

Most of the time I just use it to message my wife and set timers while driving.

        • On GA, doing things is hit or miss, sometimes it confirms the action without actually doing anything. Sometimes it’s able to tell me the dates of the Antipodes Festival and what time Kenangan is closing. Sometimes it just goes “sorry I don’t understand” for every single command that’s not related to navigation.

        • On Siri, if it understands my words then it reliably gets work done and quickly. But it refuses to answer any factual questions while driving.

    Anti-gratitude thread >:(

    • Friend from uni cancelled on me and the reason was because something minor came up apparently. Didn’t say what. Last time we were meant to catch up, they hadn’t even left the house and were half an hour away at the time we were supposed to meet, so I told them we can reschedule. I have cancelled on them last minute before as well, but this is not the only time they’ve done it. Time to find alternative social arrangements for this week, because I will go insane without seeing people.

I’ve gained about 10kg, after all the work and exercise I did, and have a fat belly now and I’m depressed about it. Why are cakes so nice? Why is tiramisu so damn tasty? I seem to have to exercise like a maniac in order to indulge in a miserly stingy little bit of cheesecake, which makes me even more depressed, it’s barely fucking worth it! So I’m watching my food intake, avoiding high fat and high sugar foods and I’m fucking miserable.

I hate dropping my kids off at childcare. They cry when I leave and I feel like I’m turning my back on them. I want to have them at home but I can’t give them the attention they need and work at the same time.

I hate this performance meeting I have coming up. The way it makes me feel and it’s such a big deal over something so small. No one has been hurt and the business hasn’t even lost money. There are things I could do better but everything feels so insignificant in comparison.

It really bugs me how I never see my MIL in the morning when we’re getting the kids ready. We live in the same house and she knows the schedule, why do I never see her when we’re trying to wrangle two kids out the door before work?

Omfg the amount of bloatware on this laptop is insane! Windows really is just bloat at this point. It reminds me of when I was younger and used to have a cheap shitty Optus/Telstra phone they probably sold as a loss leader. They used to come with sooo much bloatware. Even the cheap Samsung’s used to.

But seriously. No I don’t fucking want Norton, LinkedIn, candy crush, Microsoft maps, or Facebook. God. And everything is so pushy, why can’t it be quiet bloatware.

    Open edge

    Search for chrome

“There’s no need to switch to another browser! Edge performs better.”

    Close popup

Go to the download chrome page

“Microsoft edge performs up to 3x faster than >google chrome!”

    Close popup

    Download chrome

    Open chrome

“Installer error! Failed with error code 57”

Norton popup: “we found a threat on your device! But don’t worry. We blocked it.”

I NEVER WANTED NORTON OR EDGE I JUST WANT CHROOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEE. FUCK. OFF

this was also after about 15 minutes of trying to figure out how to fuck all the Microsoft garbage off and just use a local account.

    And now:

MSI Centre popup: “Have you backed up your system?”

NO I HAVEN’T BACKED UP MY FUCKING SYSTEM THERE’S NOTHING TO BACKUP YET YOU DONKEY! I HAVENT EVEN INSTALLED CHROME YET!!!

The best indicator for who will be president in America is, in my opinion, the betting markets. At this point they are basically the collective opinion of people who make money predicting these things based on all available evidence. Currently Trump is about a four to one favourite to win according to this indicator. Pretty amazing

Using that example, if someone bet $100 on Biden, would that mean they get $400?

Edit: no. Would that mean they would profit $80, and end up with $180?

I think when it’s phrased like that, it means in favour of whoever was mentioned. Based on the phrasing, I take it the consensus is that for every 4 people who like (or perhaps bet?) on Trump, 1 likes (or bets) on Biden. I think

I think people put too much stock in the “assassignation attempt = win” idea though. There are a whole bunch of things that were always considered to be true about US politics that Trump has proven to not actually be the case - a few years ago it would have been considered a rule of politics that someone who was even accused of a crime, suspected of sexual assaults etc. would never be able to win an election. Trump has broken all the “rules” so far, I don’t think this is any different.

I’m pretty good at sticking to the speed limit, even if the yank tanks start looking like they want to ram me out of the way, but I struggle with properly taking in things next to the road. I tend to egg tunnel vision on what’s in front of me and after a few seconds I realise “shit. That’s not how driving works. Did I miss a speed limit?”. But I’m still a learner and only have a couple of hours, so I guess I have an excuse

(Also I never actually have missed a new speed limit)

You’re ok Baku. You’re only learning. That’s what your passenger is there for, to look around and point things out to you so you can concentrate on the road ahead. The more you drive the more you’ll take over that part of the passenger until they are no longer having to.
