Seven days until pay day, when i will probably be able to afford a new heater that can actually heat! The old 4 fin radiator struggles.

Would a 1000A jump starter be enough to start most cars?

The question is less about jumping my own car (it’s a 2L ICE), but more about, if a friend comes up to me or I see a random struggling with a dead battery, what are the chances 1000A is enough?

(don’t want to spend too much money lol)

I don’t own a jump starter, how often are you jumping your car?

Diesel needs more jump than petrol.

Gooloo brand was recommended by Project Farm on youtube.

The car manual should indicate power required to start the batter, possibly listed as battery size or cold cranking amps (CCA).

        Long time no see Dumblederp.

how often are you jumping your car?

        Never had to, thankfully.

But have jumped my wife’s friend once, and came across two scenarios requiring a jump this past month. I just helplessly watched a guy wait an hour for RACV to turn up lol.

Gooloo brand was recommended by Project Farm on youtube.

Will go check it out, thanks:)

Hey dude, I’ve long given up on Overwatch.

If you do get a jump pack, some have usb ports and will work as a big usb battery which is a nice extra feature.

I haven’t played any games at all in the past few months lol.

Sounds great… I’ll look for that too, thanks

100% humidity outside - that explains why EVERYTHING is currently very wet. And foggy. Might be the same tomorrow, weekend’s looking promising for some sun though. My split system was being weird, blowing hot and cold, but the internal unit air filters were quite clean. Gave them a wash anyway. Maybe I need to create more space in front of the external unit and give it a bit of a vacuum or something

Morning all! Just woke up from a crazy dream where myself and four other unknown (to me) people were on the run in the States, which at one point involved stealing a heavily modded Chevy Wrangler from Donald Trump (he cried. He loved that car. Lots of people, the best people, said it was a great car). It was a comedy/drama kind of dream, very entertaining, and I did not want to wake up. Stupid bladder! In the dream we made a toilet pitstop and while I went I suddenly thought, "HEY, YOU’RE NOT DOING THAT IN REAL LIFE ARE YOU‽” and I suddenly awoke and I was! I haven’t wet the bed in 40 years! I didn’t wet the bed much, luckily, just my multilayered night attire. Very weird experience and a helluva way to end the dream I was enjoying.

Getting the cat into the carrier was a task. Helped when I threw a towel on him and bundled him into it.

But the yowling on the tram had me cackling; had to get right up close and go “pss it’s me I’m here” for him to stop. I think he was upset because my partner was holding him, and then left to the train when I got on the tram.

Now we’re chilling in the waiting room. I expect Mickey will beat me up somewhat when we get home lol

Getting them into the carrier is the most stressful part of a vet trip. That and the bill.

All done and home now, he’s fine. Bit my leg, par for the course.

Bill wasn’t bad, $90 for his vax and another set in a month, as I realised I never got him vaxxed last year 👀

In my defense, he’s indoors only, and has only been unwell once when he was a kitten lol

There have been vaccination shortages anyway, so you might not have been able to get it done. Miss Meow was due for hers 6 months ago but the vet didn’t have any available so it got put off.

Mine all had boosters in December. One of them then shared cat flu with the other two in May. Even the dog got it. In fairness, it was mild in the dog and the two she gave it to, but she was quite unwell herself. Don’t sneak out the door and get picked up by the ranger, kids.

Booked a short holiday and cruise for next month. My brain: “maybe I should work on my health and fitness leading up to that!” Also my brain: “eat fried potato. Now.”

    … it was delicious.

A fried potato isn’t that bad. It’s got a lot of kilojoules if you’re counting, but it is also fairly unprocessed. Lots of supposedly diet snacks are actually worse for you than a fried potato.

Processed food is the devil. And it’s everywhere in our diet. If the ingredients list on a snack is more than two lines long and has a bunch of numbers, it is worse for you than a fried potato.

Fog or low cloud has rolled in over Richmond. Outside air temp has gone from f**king cold to biting cold. Hands are burning after going out to buy a coffee. Wasn’t like that when I got to work this morning at 9 am.

I need a new bed. The slightest movement on mine and it squeaks like a rusty gate.

Any suggestions online to look for mattresses and bed frames?

In the short term, a graphite lubricant like for locks will help a lot. Cheaper than a new bed. I would not use WD40 due to smell and greasy residue.

The bed is old. It needs to go, the screws are stripped to the point I’m not sure it could ever be taken apart lol. And the mattress is uncomfortable. I may as well have a whole new me.

Can you get ikea delivered down there? Not everyone loves it but the Malm is pretty solid! It survived the start of me and the wifes relationship if that counts for anything and is still with us today.

There is a ghost on my stovetop.

Some oven dude came out to fix a burner a few days ago. He fixed the burner, but fucked another burner and igniter (sparky things).

On two of the burners, when you turn it down, then back up, all the igniters start sparking and doesn’t stop. Very odd. turns out if one igniter isn’t sparking, they all spark as a safety thing so there’s no explosion.

Took some methylated spirits to the sparky things which helped but the big trick was re-sparking, so when they all start going off, just push one of the burners’ dial and it stops. Never seen that before.

Oven dude was gonna hit me for a few hundred just to have another look even though he didn’t do it right.

So, happy to get it going again without any more hassle.

    Fuck that oven guy though.

I’ve been using induction or those old school ones with the circular metal plates that heat up for so long. The Airbnb had gas and dear god I do not miss gas stoves.

I probably wouldn’t have paid the oven dude tbh. I’m assuming you didn’t realise it was broken until after he’d already left, but I would’ve called him back, told him it was broken, and then just not paid him afterwards. He’s the one that broke it 🤷‍♂️
