    It’s really funny that

    a) A line where she tells anti-genocide protesters to shut up is being celebrated as a #girlboss moment

    b) Dems suck so much at campaigning they still gotta use the 2008 Obama Hope poster

Not going to comment on a), but b) kind of makes sense to me. Her campaign feels very much like Obama’s. You have a candidate who is energetic, likeable, and generally seems like a decent person. You have someone who people want to vote for instead of just voting against the other guy. It makes sense they would try to draw parallels.

I have voted democrat since 2000. I really don’t feel that’s someone we “want” to vote for. That’s who we have. We didn’t get any other choice. She is ok but I really wish Walz was running for president instead.

Yeah, it was a badass line, but not in context. I don’t blame her, a speaker has to read the room and control the crowd, but it doesn’t belong on a t-shirt.

As to b), I’ve bemoaned the Democrats for years and years, but you gotta admit, the Harris campaign is hitting on all 8 cylinders, finally showing the balls I’ve screamed at them to grow.

Is this supporting her or against her?

I don’t know if I should celebrate Stephen King or burn all his books that I’ve collected over the years.

To me it comes across as an intentionally lackluster endorsement.

1-Like another comment said, if you’ve read any of his books you should know he’s quite liberal. Could this pic be just a photo op for online clout? Sure, maybe, but he definitely does NOT endorse Trump.

2-He’s 76 years old, I imagine most things he does nowadays are fairly lackluster

            1. Before I deleted my Twitter, I followed Stephen King for his sometimes funny clapbacks on there and because of his liberal politics. I don’t think it is a photo for clout at all, I think it’s his legitimate endorsement. I just had a whoosh moment about the slogan/tagline on the shirt.

            2. Everything in life is lackluster once you stop doing cocaine lmao, I know this intimately lol

I always wondered how people could talk or think about burning books and not consider themselves to be a villain. Wth, I probably wouldn’t even burn Mein Kampf or Mao’s red book and you want to burn novels you’ve enjoyed because the writer endorses a politician.

Funny to see the man 3-minutes finishing Sun Dog. And for those in the know, I just got my wife’s modern Polaroid out to play with. Wish me luck!

            “I’m speaking.”

She has used this multiple times, but most recently it was to shut down people protesting the genocide of palestinians.

Was the message/mission of those interrupting her material in why she said “I’m speaking”? I would assume she was holding an official press conference or something, and it was her turn to speak and it was not being honored.

If my assumption is wrong, I’m happy to revise my opinion of it.

If my assumption is right, it’s just people with hurt feelings who couldn’t wait their turn to speak (as this assumption requires that it was harris’ turn to speak.)

Describing people begging for a genocide to stop as just having hurt feelings and being impatient is a wild approach.

Protests aren’t supposed to be silent. That’s the entire point and the only way to get anything done. If Harris was already campaigning on a ceasefire they would have nothing to protest about and she wouldn’t be interrupted. These are constituents making their voices heard.

Were they protesting or at a press conference? That’s my point.

If she was addressing an active protest, then they had every right to keep speaking, and as I said, I revise my opinion.

                  So, which was it?

Edit I’m specifically not addressing the context they are protesting, I’m focusing on the setting this phrase was said by her.

Separately, becayse this is Lemmy and people don’t seem able to separate concerns:

Her stance on Israel and Palestine is no good, and what’s happening in Palestine is genocide.

    we’re not going back

    future

    when we fight we win

of all the fucking quotes, they went with this one for the t-shirt? the “genocide schmenocide” quote? literally the lowest point of an otherwise powerful campaign. very bad choice tbh.

Ded-a-chik, dad-a-chum, not voting for Kamala would be dumb!

Anyone voting Trump/Vance has forgotten the face of his father!
