I have rediscovered Legend from 1985. Ridley Scott, Tom Cruise, Tim Curry, and an unimaginable quantity of glitter thrown at wind machines. 3/5 unicorn farts

    More Sad Stuff

turns out she had too many genetic faults, Nothing anyone could have done. She wasnt in pain. Thank Christ. I was terrified her previous owner had abused her or we’d failed her in some way. The rescue wont tell us what the vet bill costs so they are just getting a donation in her memory.

I did get one good symptom - it killed my appetite for a while, and whilst it has come back it is currently still just at a fairly normal level instead of the weird constant peri-menopausal super hunger I’ve had for ages. I’m hoping it lasts as long as possible, it might actually be possible for me to lose some of my excessive weight - I’ve already lost enough that my clothes are fitting properly again.

I love when the government calls on a private number and asks me to confirm my name, DOB, address, etc. “Absolutely not, I have no way of confirming who you are”. They seem shaken by the response. Given their atrocious security protocol there’s no way I’m giving a private number any of that info.

We recently had to do this as part of a campaign. First thing I would say to the person on the other side ‘If you’re not comfortable confirming this, please email the address provided with the correspondence’.

I completed all my calls in about 15 minutes and fobbed the work onto the team that was monitoring the inbox.

Such a stupid way of doing things

Happened all the time when I worked for the SRO doing outbounds haha. I was always like, “fair enough! When you get a letter saying you owe X* tax, call us on the number on the letter then!” 😂

*X in place of payroll/investment home tax lol, not the actual figure/amount!

Got some crap news last night.

Very Sad don't read if your not up to it

The animal rescue reached out to us the other week to ask if we’d noticed anything wrong with Jill (the rescue kitten). Apparently she had some balance issues or trouble using a back leg. We were sort of steeling ourselves that she might come back to us (we told them if she had any trouble finding a home she was always welcome with us.) They were talking her to the vet to get checked over.

We hadn’t heard anything so followed up yesterday only to find she didnt make it. She passed shortly after we spoke to them the other week. They dont know exactly what was wrong, but she apparently had some issues. We are shattered. She wasnt even our cat but… fuck man. just… fuck.

I’m sorry. You did the best you could. You took her in and kept her safe, gave her a chance she wouldn’t have otherwise had. She passed warm and safe while being cared for.

So sorry. Such a massive hurt when you try to do the right thing and it still goes pear-shaped. Hugs for all concerned.

Oh that is so sad. Many many hugs. I’ve been watching their lists waiting for her to pop up! But she had warmth, comfort, food and peace which she would not have had without you.

same! I even set up a damn facebook again. I was so excited seeing those guys adopted last week but was starting to get a bit worried. I thought maybe they’d renamed her or something. but yeah. Guess we were her last home.

kinda sad Geoffrey the dog update but cute pic of dogs enclosed

He has more purple lumps. He has also lost quite a bit of weight and isn’t eating much. Also also vomiting bile. Lacks energy. His liver function wasn’t too good a couple of weeks ago.

The vet were going to do surgery today to remove the lumps, but the last lump was quite expensive to remove. Multiply that amount by eight lumps and my aunt could not afford it.

So they called my aunt and they didn’t do the surgery because they think something underlying is going on. He will be getting a blood test today and then an ultrasound when the consultant can come come in.

That’s him on the right with my aunt’s other dog

Sitting in a new area at work and people are super friendly.

My usual grumpy self is suffering silently but somehow enjoying this.
