Not only are the countries he is saying have “fine” refugees don’t even speak English as an official language, Africa as a continent has the largest amount of countries that speak English:

Most other African countries speak French, Spanish or another European language as an official language. So what is the issue here? Many Africans have immigrated to Western countries and have integrated fine. It’s insane that Twitch is allowing this kind of rhetoric to be displayed in full velocity on this platform.

    Accept refugees from Gemany

Like the Nazis who fled to America after WW2 to avoid persecution?

Actually that’s exactly the folks he wants.

What he says might be unpopular on this platform, but I don’t see the racism in it. Integrating large numbers of people from a completely different culture into your society is extremely difficult – if not outright impossible. Exhibit A: Sweden.

This is one of those things where dismissing people who are worried about this stuff as racists or xenophobes just alienates them – and pushes them to vote for the actual racists and xenophobes instead. That’s how you end up where the US is today.

Counterpoint, attempting to appease and cater to racists is the Ratchet Effect in action. This hasn’t caused racists to actually vote for Democratic candidates, rather it simply moves the Overton Window rightward.

Of course Sweden, the dogwhistle for the racists and fascists trying to insist on the ““Islamification”” of Europe.

You’re claiming ignorance on what can be explained by malice. There’s no excuse for ignorance in this day and age when access to information is so open. These far-right fuckwits don’t want integration, they want a race war. They want white supremacy.

The concerned citizen shtick is bullshit to cover for racism. Trying to appease them has proven time and time again to be pointless. The argument for not “alienating” the far-right is literally just “give them exactly what they want”.

Appreciate the live demo of exactly what I was talking about.

Instead of engaging with the argument, you go straight to branding me a racist. This is why the far-right keeps gaining ground - not because people agree with them, but because they’re sick of being shouted down any time they try to talk about real issues. Apparently things still aren’t bad enough for that lesson to sink in.

EDIT: Ironically this just in: Sweden set to rent cells in Estonian jails as it runs out of room for its prisoners

Sweden is not set up to cope with a rise in the numbers being sentenced to jail time as the government grapples with an unprecedented wave of violence brought about by gang crime.

That’s because your argument is bollocks, as it is when Farage or Trump or any other grifter makes it. People of different backgrounds live integrated together in peace in many large cities around the world, but people like you act like all of society’s ills are because we have too many brown people.

Wealth inequality sharply on the rise, social mobility going down the toilet, neoliberal economic ideology pushing people into poverty, of course people are frustrated. The arguments against the anti-immigration narrative are numerous, but aren’t going to do much if you have no interest in listening to them, much like the right-wing talking heads in the media who like to shout over people who defend immigrants from the grotesque lies told about them.

This is why the far-right keeps gaining ground - not because people agree with them, but because they’re sick of being shouted down any time they try to talk about real issues

Meaningless tosh. They don’t agree with the far-right but yet they support the far-right because they were shouted down. By who exactly? Some bloke on the street? Someone on Twitter?

If you don’t want to be labeled as racist, then stop pushing racist narratives and disinformation.

          wrong order.

SD started rising before the “immigrant wave”, since we’ve had high immigration numbers since the 70s, but the shootings and bombings only started five years ago. they’re mostly being carried out by people who were less than ten years old during that time. so the violence is, in a way, home-grown.

According to wikipedia their support was at around 4% in the 90’s, 5.7% in 2010, 17.5% in 2018 and 20% in 2022.

There was a peak in immigration in the '70s, but that was still only half of what it was in 2015. I doubt it’s just a coincidence that their support seems to correlate pretty neatly with the number of immigrants. I never claimed that it’s the gang violence driving the increased support - it’s the immigration itself. The rise in violence just makes it easier for them to say “I told you so.”

And what does that have to do with anything? Sweden’s population has grown from 8 million in the '70s to 10.5 million today. That’s 2.5 million more people - and 1.9 million of them are immigrants. The number of immigrants per capita has increased significantly since the '70s, not decreased. It has gone from 3.7% of the total population to 20.8%.

I see clips of this guy in my recommended videos section on youtube all the time. I never click on them and I have watch history turned off anyway so I wonder how it’s deciding that I should watch these clips. Either way, I find it odd how signal-boosted this clown is. The gaming-to-politics pipeline is too strong.

This is why, lol. Since his videos are generally popular on YouTube, if you have no watch history for your recommendations to be based on, it’s just always going to feed you whatever’s popular, which will include his stuff.

You’re doing it to yourself, in other words. I actually have watched a couple videos of his in the past, and yet, because it’s rare, I never see his videos being recommended to me. Hell, in my experience, stuff recommended to me is rarely similar to things I’ve seen more than a month or so ago.

    what a cunt.

it’s obvious he doesn’t even understand what a refugee is

and then goes on to say “why would you add people to your country that don’t speak the language” in English and not the native tongue of the tribe that the land was stolen from

and what the fuck did he think happened to Poles who moved to the US 100 years ago? They weren’t even considered “white.”

Eh, I tried to be open-minded. Asmongold was funny and surprisingly articulate back when he just dunked on video game developers, but as time went on and Trump came into office, it really started falling apart. Rogan used to have doctors, scientists and educators in his show, and had enough humility to at least admit he was stupid and respected what they taught him. But just like Asmongold, Trump, money and the pandemic absolutely broke his brain.
