Seemed to go ok! I’ve made it to the next round!!!

Which is case study (nice way of saying roleplay) with 2 senior staff acting like clients.

    Odd but will be interesting.

Went to Kickin’ Inn for dinner tonight because I’ve been craving seafood and it was surprisingly fun eating out of a bag on the table with gloves on. Expensive, but would do it again sometime.

There’s an Imgur blackout protesting the banning of nsfw and also they were removing political content?

Also they’re going to be purging old unused content not associated with an account so please go grab anything you’d miss if it hasn’t already happened. (It began at least a week ago maybe.)

There are some old pics of Melbcat on there that will go… I do have the originals and don’t remember where I wrote the links to the post but it’s still sad to think about.

I refused to make an account because they were demanding a phone number. I guess if I ever do Drawabox I have to find an alternative for that reason alone…

Mickey has been way more cuddly and needy than usual, somehow. I think he knows something is happening soon (out trip and his stay in the cattery).

I don’t want to leave my big baby 😭😭

    Alrighty.

On my way now. Will be almost an hour early but that’s my standard MO. Can sit around and have a coffee and mess around on my iPad before hand.

    Fingers crossed!

I gave Mr Woof a long overdue bath. He was not pleased.

It was a touch awkward but I managed to get the raised dog bath in the bathroom so it was partly in the shower and I could use the shower hose to wash and also drain the dirty water back into the shower. The tiles got a bit wet but not enough to cause any real problems. Now that I know I have a setup that works Mr Woof may be doomed to more frequent baths again.

Feels like -3.2o outside. I am informed all cars in the carpark are covered in ice. Which means I have to sit in my car defrosting for a while before I can go home 😭

Impossible. I’d give a different answer depending on my hunger level, hormones, companion, or it just being a Tuesday.

Roast potato. The crispy edges are delicious.

Mashed potatoes. Nothing nicer with home made gravy.

Chips with mayo from the fritkot off Grande Place.

      Baked potato is best.

However the potato variety in Australia is pretty bad.

Proper baking potatoes (Russett?) and Yukon Gold potatoes for mashing are top tier.

Y’all can argue, but you’d be wrong.

I won’t argue. I reckon potato quality has been declining for years. I’ve tried all the supermarket ones and ones from green grocers and I just can’t replicate the fluffiness and flavour of baked or roast potatoes I remember from decades ago. Where. Are. The. GOOD. Potatoes.

You’re the 50th person who has said that to me this week. Back to school I go.

Rank them for most enjoyable to least enjoyable, based on how you feel in this very moment.

Hey, I’m having all the feels about this. Things like Myers–Briggs I get different results on different days. Stupid questions like the library/party one. I work in a bloody library this question does not work.

Roasted potato has to be on top, but hot chips (not shoestring, proper hot chips deep fried) and potato chips are close behind. I like a good wedge with sour cream too, and mashed potato has its place.

      Now I really want potato.

Shoestring fries are probably my favourite. But they’re unhealthy so need to be eaten in moderation, same for crisps.

Wedges can be risky. I’ve had a bunch that haven’t been cooked well. They’re easy to prepare at home but isn’t that just kinda a rustic style roast?

Mashed, serves a purpose as a side, base or pie crust. You can zhoosh it up with things like cheese, garlic and bacon then feed it to your GF while she’s having a hard time.

      Roast - Classic.

Boiled - Intermediary state. Reminds me of of culinary devoid Irish grandma.

Scollop potato Like a cheese and potato bake, makes me think of celebratory meals, eg. xmas.

Potato Gratin. Tried the aldi one once and it was okay but one of my favourite things about potato is that it’s cheap.

I have a house of mash potato loving fiends, so most days I cook mash. Myself I am partial to roast potatoes and who doesn’t love a shoestring fry. Wedges as a side to a robust manly meal like brisket, and I will admit to loving a boiled or even microwaved spud with salt, butter and chives. I make a beautiful potato scallop bake, never got on the gratin train but love a potato rosti. My favourite crisps are original salted crinkle cut. There is no bad potato in my book. The perfect addition to any meal in any form.
