I just don’t understand where these people get their information. I haven’t been able to find any verifiable facts that make statehood a good idea or would save any money.

To be fair, recent events like https://lemmy.ca/post/41181182 and https://lemmy.ca/post/41102961 or https://lemmy.ca/post/41065802 or https://lemmy.ca/post/41091031 suggest it’d be harder for them to move over to the US now than it used to be. At least as Canadians.

Most likely, the only realistic option they have for moving to the US would be to attract someone and marryHHHHHHHHHHHHH^HH

The only realistic option for them is for Canada join the US as a single country. Which is still wildly unrealistic. But it’s all they have, sad as it is.

That being said, if a future option opens up - say from a new treaty provides an option where they irreversibly renounce being Canadian in return for getting US citizenship - I wouldn’t necessarily say no to that.

That’s not being fair at all. I thought by “harder to move” you meant there was an administrative issue like they’re denying people to immigrate there.

It’s exactly what these idiots want so they should just move. You think they’ll treat us better once we become the 51st state? They don’t even treat their current 50 states well.

I believe the correct term for them is: Fucking Losers.

Doors are due south. Kindly fuck off.

Not all of them. I know a few that genuinely believe this would be a good thing. They’re mostly far right conservatives though, who wish they could immigrate to Texas or whatever, but can’t because the US does not actually want them. So to them, it feels like a backdoor option. Full on trumpets.

tbh, i am wondering is it really “small minority”, or just “small part” of the minority that we heard/seen.

how many of them are staying quiet but secretly want to join the USA.

bottomline, it is still scarying me that PC still poll 37+%

I hear they’ll make you an honorary citizen and even provide you a new home if you show up at the border with gun and declare you are a foreigner who wants to live in America!

    Also,

Fuck. These. Fucking. Piece. Of. Shit. Little. Fucking. Goofs.

During Nazi Germany there was also a Jews for Nazis group or something called similar like that.

There is always that group of idiots that just don’t care

Do they even know what they are signing up for? (American style health care, school shootings, DOGE, etc?)

      All they care about are

      • Lower Taxes
      • Religious Extremism
      • Guns
      • Petrol

Let’s be real, most of those folks are probably traditional white Bible Belt Conservative that would love to go back 60 years in the past.

We really need to be careful though because the left in the US underestimated those and their money and influence, we cannot do the same here and let them sneak their way into power.

It’s even worse, they literally think they will never need it, so they shouldn’t pay for someone else’s.
