Netherlands it is then.
Klarna. Why? It is such a shit company.
My card keeping app was bought by Klarna. Had to migrate my account so I could even view them. Turns out Klarna is a bank, so now even deleting my account leaves sensitive information because banks have to keep those.
Also the UI was shit.

Yeah, what’s up with Latvia? Why would people mass-download a grocery store app? Besides, iki is better. At least it was 10 years ago. Do they still have iki?
Because of discounts
I’m from Latvia. I have the app, but I don’t believe for 1 second that it’s the most downloaded one. Hell, half the country doesn’t even like that grocery store and would much rather go to Rimi.
I don’t remember Rimi. Is it new or was it just small back then? The two main ones were Maxima and iki.
Happy cake day, btw.
Yeah, Iki was a loong time ago. Rimi has been the “main” grocery store for quite some time. Maxima has gathered a reputation of being a bit trashier, but also cheaper.
Didn’t even notice I joined Lemmy a year ago, thanks!
Serbia has an itchy delete finger, apparently.

can it though, or just claims to be able to? as I know no apps without root privileges cqn do such things. unless it just searches things in the gallery recycle bin, in which case it is again useless because the gallery app can be used for that
Wtf is klarna?
Swedish fintech for online payments. A lot of young people go into debts with their “shop now, buy later” function
So credit card with extra steps?
Credit cards are not that wide spread in many parts of Europe opposed to the US. I guess it’s more like PayPal with the possibility to pay later. But yes, I also use my debit/credit card for online payment, which is a step more as I have to enter many numbers for that.
Layaway without the wait
Credit card with no rewards and more predatory payment scheme
Yikes. Credit cards aren’t really known for being above-board there either.
That’s depressing as fuck.
I know. Cheap crap is a stain.
It’s not about cheap crap, it’s about the predatory nature of almost all apps shown and how well-known it is that they’re ethically bad.
People love convenience. And most can’t be assed to get everything from ethical sources.
Just try going to a grocery store and buy tropical fruit that wasn’t picked by slaves or heavily exploited farmers.
Sure, it’s not impossible but it’s way easier and cheaper to go for the big brands.
I’m like “Wildberries and Tetris?” and that’s just tangential to wtf Temu.
Look at us go wheeee.
99% of people who use Temu are dumb. They don’t stop to ask “everything is so cheap, but why?”. Because they get blinded by convenience. And i HATE those people.
Nice one Netherlands.
Surprised me though, although temu probably would’ve surprised me more
I’m sure a lot of us here can say that’s the only one on the map we have
The Netherlands continues to be my top choice for a place to live if I end up fleeing my country. If they’ll have me.
It’s expensive. Don’t forget to buy the floor for your apartment.
Edit: I’m serious about the floor. Apartments don’t come with flooring included.
I live in San Francisco, I’m used to things being expensive. The floor thing is crazy though.
If they’ll have me.
Not with the current political climate I’m afraid. Still hoping for a shift to the left, as our right wing parties just showed they are completely incompetent. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst though.
Is Temu really that much cheaper compared to Aliexpress to be “worth it”?
They have better marketing
Same garbage different name
Loving Bulgaria. Everybody’s doing social networks, meanwhile they’re “ooh, a puzzle game!”
Temu is more like a capitalism network than a social network, but yeah Chad Bulgaria playing tetris instead of giving into consumerism.
You know, I mostly hear about how Soviet-looking Bulgaria still is from my family over that way. Everyone playing Tetris adds to that.
Downloaded through what?
99% of all software I use I downloaded from my distro repository, GitHub or torrent trackers. I doubt that this “infographics” counts that.
Colloquially, apps usually just means phone apps these days. So that means it’s probably Android Play Store, and iOS App Store.
this is highly likely the play store
Plus the Apple AppStore, I assume.
Might actually be only the Play Store cause I googled All Recovery (thinking it might be because all of Serbia could want to go sober) and it only returned results of an Android app.
You’re at best in the statistical margins. No one cares about you (or me)
You are not the average person when it comes to downloading and installing software. Of course statistics like this one won’t count that.
I’m sure they don’t even try.
Far more effort to try than the value it would add to the data
i use arch btw
You had to say that, didn’t you?
For me personally my phone downloaded it automatically because I apperently missed some checkmark or something. Instantly deleted it, but it still counts. Samsung btw.
Based Netherlands.
No love for Finland? Threads is kind of fun and at least it isn’t selling you landfill fodder
deleted by creator
They downloaded threads in hopes of browsing sopuli through threads, of course /s
“Wtf is TEMU?”
Oh…
Also, wtf is MA IMA?
Temu is basically Wish.
Maxima is a Lithuanian retail chain which operates throughout the Baltics.
That red X on a red background 👌
Out of everything the most depressing is Klarna. It’s a buy now pay later microloans that should just be forbidden.
I don’t know if it was the case in other countries but in Belgium a very popular app used to store loyalty cards was bought by Klarna. It was not really clear that you could continue to use the old app for a while and not switch to Klarna. So I know a lot of people that just installed the app just to be able to have access to their cards.
We get a lot of advertising for it here in Belgium and tons of webshops support it, sadly. What a trash company.
Not just support it but sometimes it’s the only option, so you also have to support their business even if you just paying upfront. (and hand over your personal data)
