According to my experience Facebook ads are now becoming scam more and more. Like they just use AI voice and animated videos for ads and customer buy it. That product is mostly trash not usable.

Last time my buddy sent me a Facebook link, it wouldn’t let me view it without giving them my phone number. I did not.
Discord does this for logging in from different places a lot which is bonkers to me how many people dont care about it, it doesnt even matter if you have TOTP 2FA activated, they still try to gaslight the need for phone number is for “security”

I’d imagine it’s far more difficult (and possibly illegal) to forcibly gain access to a website that denies access until you log in or register. Maybe there could be an extension that creates throwaway accounts for you to use, but I’m not aware of any myself.
I wonder if it’s possible to register a VOIP number for free and use it for Facebook. I haven’t tried it myself.

I truly don’t know either way, but it would be laughable of them if the only thing that blocks unregistered users from loading more content is a pop-up. I’ve gotten through forced pop-ups with uBlock’s block element tool in the past.
I used to do gig work online. Everything was fine for two years, then they suddenly required the same shit for identity verification, so I quit.

I needed to make an account recently, if you make it via a proper computer you get this and it sends it as an “appeal”… Which means they werent clever enough to separate new account creation from actual appeals. So of course what happens is it goes to some call center in some poor part of the world where they’re not smart enough to know the difference or dont care, they hit deny and you get perma banned.
This is not the same if you sign up via an app, which is amazingly stupid but whatever.
Ironically i learned about this by watching youtube videos for scammers on how to make fake facebook accounts.
Of course i immediately uninstalled the app, because i dont want that cancer on my phone.
The same thing happened to me recently. I used my friend’s phone to play this video in front of the camera, and it worked.
