I’m about to take a long flight and am looking to expand my music library.
EDIT: Thanks so much, everyone! I’ve got 10.5 hours of music on my new playlist thanks to you all!
you probably won’t like this but I like it

Artist: Bear Ghost
Album: Jiminy
Song: Sirens
The whole album is great and I’m always trying to get more people to listen to this band.
The new Deafheaven album is amazing.
Snooze - Know How You Will Die - Out of left field discovery. They have a really diverse sound scape. It’s mostly metal but does a good job of not following a set genre of metal.
BCNR - Forever Howling - is a grower, not a shower. At first I didn’t really like Tyler’s songs because she left absolutely no room for anything to breath. But I’ve done a 180 on them as I find her voice so soothing.
Cool song, cool video
I’ve been listening to Metallica’s One and …And Justice for All repeatedly, their two best tracks.
Orion and To Live Is To Die are better, IMHO. :)
Sorry I posted the wrong songs.
Don’t be. I’m just sharing an alternate opinion.
Do you get, though, how it doesn’t improve a thread asking people what they’re most excited about right now when you reply telling someone they’re wrong?
Do you get though that I said “in my humble opinion” and posted a smile? Do you get, though, that other people may like Metallica and have different songs they like and would have the urge to reply to your comment as if it were the Metallica thread? Do you get that, though? Do you?
I’m just saying, in life there are contexts where your disagreement is meant to be part of the discussion, like a best song thread, and then there’s other contexts where criticizing what someone likes, even in a non mean spirited way, subtly depresses the fun of the situation.
When I was younger I didn’t get that, my friends would talk about things they liked and I’d instinctively disagree. And at a certain age I realized I’d be better company if I didn’t interrupt their enthusiasm. Because the world sucks and enthusiasm is hard to cultivate.
You sound insecure. I wasn’t trying to bring you down. Be confident. Own your opinions.
Have a nice day.
Hump Back - 「番狂わせ」(Upset) - Will likely have to watch it through Invidious or a VPN with an exit node in Japan, afaik it region locked to Japan only… ;-;
The band was somewhat recently featured on Bocchi the Rock with one of the scenes in the linked video being adapted into the cover page.
The Rumjacks. Irish punk / rock / folk and very good.
The original singer had some issues, and was replaced by another singer with a great voice :)
Destiny Potato
Breaking benjamin
Passage Du Desir - Sturgill Simpson. His whole catalog is solid if you like more classic country (Merle/Willie)with some experimental elements.
Ghostface killah
Twelve Reasons To Die might be my favorite solo wu album
Fontaines DC, the most recent album. Plus the cover Porter Robinson did of Favorite from that album.
That song with Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman, Right Back to It.
Nilufer Yanya album My Method Actor
Joshua Ray Walker, anything by him is so good.
Windhand. Sort of a psychedelic doom metal with groovy elements and a haunting, ethereal female vocalist
Listened to them a bit in my metal days, impressed to see them have over 80k monthly listeners on Spotify now!
Glass Beams
Khruangbin
I can feel Khruangbin lower my stress within 10 seconds.
Yup. Very few bad songs too. They’re consistently great. Zionsville is my current high water mark for them. Just gorgeous. I never saw the appeal of the pedal steel guitar until that song.
I don’t think I’ve heard that, gonna check it out. I really like all the stuff they did with Leon Bridges, I wasn’t ever really a fan of that type of like country/r&b or what ever it is until then, but damn those albums/EPs are great.
I tried to go see them open for Toro y Moi one time, and Toro cancelled so it was just them for the whole set and they started just doing hip-hop covers in their style to extend their set and it was hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
Oh nevermind! Zionsville is on my favorite album they’ve done. I don’t know the track names because I usually just throw on a whole album at once
This will likely be my favorite for a long long time. Just so relaxing.
This music video is my favorite piece of art in general too, be sure to read the description of the video.
Lucid Planet II https://youtu.be/pzdvidK-w4k
psychedelic prog rock
and I’m still a little stuck on Dax Riggs’ 7 songs for spiders
…but I just can’t believe it.
Then some folks on Lemmy pointed me to Tipper so I’ve been hearing Forward escape for a few weeks.
smattering of new fleshgod apocalypse and persefone.
I learned about Tipper through a music discord, excellent sound design
