I’m about to take a long flight and am looking to expand my music library.
EDIT: Thanks so much, everyone! I’ve got 10.5 hours of music on my new playlist thanks to you all!
you probably won’t like this but I like it

Artist: Bear Ghost
Album: Jiminy
Song: Sirens
The whole album is great and I’m always trying to get more people to listen to this band.
The new Deafheaven album is amazing.
Snooze - Know How You Will Die - Out of left field discovery. They have a really diverse sound scape. It’s mostly metal but does a good job of not following a set genre of metal.
BCNR - Forever Howling - is a grower, not a shower. At first I didn’t really like Tyler’s songs because she left absolutely no room for anything to breath. But I’ve done a 180 on them as I find her voice so soothing.
Cool song, cool video
For me it’s a track by an artist called tuki:
ひゅるりらぱっぱ - HYURURIRAPAPPA
https://open.spotify.com/intl-de/track/3rm4MVBCHs52iYaCqj5XQGThis is my favorite new to me song of the month: https://pearlcharlesmusic.bandcamp.com/track/does-this-song-sound-familiar-12-version
tagged as rock, desert rock, folk rock, garage pop, psych folk, psychedelic pop
HappyHappy: Cream Cheese. Song
Sayonara Wild Heart which is a synth-pop album and a rhythm game simultaneously.
Aviators, I like a lot of their game inspired music such as A Thousand Eyes, inspired by Bloobourne and some of their personal creations such as “Godhunter,” and “My Church”
green day all day rn, my girlfriend got me their entire discography and ive been loving it. saviors is an amazing album on top of their classics
Idc about Coachella usually but been loving the banter between them and Charli
The Armed and Idles. Seriously can’t get enough of them.
In this moment. It’s kinda… Synth metal?
Carpenter Brut?
Never heard of him, just googled it and the description sounds similar. I’ll check it out tomorrow as I’m about to go to bed, but thanks for something new to check out!
Synth metal is right up my alley and I’d call Carpenter Brut the king of it.
Few tracks I’d recommend in particular:
-
Hairspray Hurricane
-
Turbo Killer
-
Le Perv
There’s way more than that but that’s a good start. Of his albums, Trilogy is more synth, Leather Teeth is middle, and Leather Terror is more metal, but all of them go extremely hard
Just checked a few of his videos on you tube and I’d say leather teeth is my favorite and the closest to in this moments style.
In this moment leans heavier in the dark/nü metal stuff with a lot more lyrics. The singer has an absolutely angelic voice and then dives deep into a growl and switches back and forth often several times in one song. Her melodic voice is like a sirens call, hypnotizing you. Then she switches and you’re ankles are dragged to hell as she yells at you. It’s fucking amazing and I really hope she doesn’t kill her vocal cords doing that. It’s seriously hauntingly beautiful.
But after checking out a few of those videos, I gotta say thanks for your recommendation, it’s dope AF and I just made a new Pandora station thanks to you. 👍
Update: still listening to it. My kid is gonna fucking love listening to this in my mx-5. This is absolutely our jam. Thanks again.
Glad you like it! I’m curious which singer you are referring to since as far as I know all the vocals in Carpenter Brut songs are via collaboration.
Some other of my favourite songs from him:
-
The Good Old Call
-
Vances De 87 (Carpenter Brut Remix)
-
Lipstick Masquerade
-
MANIAC
-
Looking for Tracy Tzu
Listen to the first song in Trilogy, “Escape from Midwich valley”. It starts out like of slow but the end perfectly sets up the rest of the album as very heavy synth
Be careful driving while listening to CB, driving under the speed limit may be an effort in futility while you listen!
Also, if you listen to Leather Terror, there’s 2 songs in there that have to be played back to back and its unbelievably hard. That would be Day Stalker and Night Prowler. Try listening to them back to back. Night Prowler starts extremely heavy

You might like aggrotech music
That’s sick too. Started out kinda like knife party and then went a different direction. I like it.
-
Chat pile. Album; Gods country
I remember seeing all the hype for that record when it came out but didn’t get it until catching them live at Outbreak fest, immense stuff
The Heavy
Kaleo
Kanaan
Reign Wolf
Goodbye June
The Chats
Smoko by The Chats is an absolute masterpiece
