  • Again: you are refusing to think critically and shutting out arguments rather than listening to them.

I’m not saying the dictionary is wrong; I’m saying the dictionary doesn’t offer a complete understanding - something you don’t seem to understand as you’re treating it like gospel. The dictionary is the beginning, not the end.

You are being willfully obtuse and acting in bad faith.

  • The dictionary is a resource whose purpose is to help foster understanding.

It is not a “See? You’re wrong!” card to pull out when you don’t have an actual counter argument.

You are refusing to think critically about this and it’s stunting your ability to actually engage in good faith since you’ve already made up your mind that you’re right and we’re wrong.

  • Honestly? Sometimes being ground and mentally healthy requires a bit of fatalism.

Some things are very much out of your control and once you learn to accept that it becomes much easier to get through bad circumstances. It’s basically a survival mechanism for a lot of people.

I could lose my job tomorrow but I’m not gonna lose sleep over that because it’s simply out of my hands. If it happens, it happens. All I can do is figure out how to move forward if it does. So I don’t worry about it.

Sometimes all you can do is react to things as they impact you and that’s fine. Not everything can be fixed, avoided, or prevented. Sometimes you step in dog shit and just need to worry about washing it out.

Sometimes there really is nothing I can do and learning to live with that has helped my mental state immensely.
