I’ve driven through Oregon before back when you weren’t allowed to pump your own gas and it felt ridiculous and inconvenient waiting for an employee to come pump gas for you. But maybe that’s just because I’m accustomed to self serve.
For groceries it’s nice to have the option to do self checkout. If I have a small number of items then self checkout is faster/easier. If I have a large number of items then going through the line with the cashier is faster/easier.
Do you feel the same about self serve gas?
Everyone dreams every night, but not everyone remembers their dreams in the morning. I don’t remember my dreams most of the time.

There are anaerobic bacteria that don’t need oxygen to survive. That was the norm before The Great Oxidation Event when cyanobacteria started releasing oxygen into the atmosphere during photosynthesis. Prior to that there was very little oxygen in the atmosphere, and anaerobic bacteria ruled the world.
After the GOE the high concentration of oxygen killed off most of the anaerobic bacteria, and what was left were organisms that made a blood truce with oxygen. Aerobic organisms gained incredible power from utilizing oxygen for metabolism, but eventually die from the accumulated damage the oxygen does to them.
I believe they’re usually tempered so they don’t break in large pieces. They usually shatter into small rounded pieces. Source: My cousin broke our shower stall.
You sound like the kind of person that thinks tomatoes are vegetables.

Communities tend to attract like minded individuals. It’s not that everyone is exactly the same, but those that are very different or have very different opinions don’t generally stay for long. That said, even within those like minded individuals there’s a wide spectrum of opinions.
For me there are a handful of topics I know I’ll get down voted for sharing, because it goes against the majority. And that’s fine, it doesn’t stop me from sharing my opinion, and I don’t really mind the downvotes. I think in general though as long as you’re able to share your opinion with nuance and self awareness, and it’s not something mean or hateful people will hear you out.
This entire post is about a woman that was shot and paralyzed for not wearing a hijab. Stop deflecting. It’s absolutely fair to criticize bad things done in the name of Islam. Feel free to create a separate post about bad things done in the name of Christianity, I’m sure you’ll have no issue finding numerous examples. But stop distracting from the oppressive environment women find themselves in in modern day Iran.
And 1/3 of 100 is 33.3333333333333. There are strong arguments for a base 12 number system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duodecimal), and some folks have already put together a base 12 metric system for it. 10 is really quite arbitrary if you think about it. I mean we only use it because humans have 10 fingers, and it’s only divisible by 5 and 2.
That said, the best argument for sticking with base 10 metric is that it’s well established. And base 10 time would make things more consistent, even if it has some trade offs.
The advantage of 12 and 60 is that they’re extremely easy to divide into smaller sections. 12 can be divided into halves, thirds, and fourths easily. 60 can be divided into halves, thirds, fourths, and fifths. So ya, 10 isn’t a great unit for time.
That’s the joke
Nah lol. There are a bunch of undecided voters. And border security is a legitimate concern for a lot of Americans.
Maybe now’s the best time to mix things up. This could be the last election before the fall of the democracy, why not go all out? I’m actually really excited for this move, and despite a little uncertainty at first I’m fully onboard.
I never said that you said those things. You said you were the last generation to understand technology and not just use it, which is quite frankly ridiculous and untrue - especially for anyone with work ethic and intelligence.
Get off your high horse old man. Millennials were born into technology, molded by it. We live and breathe it, and also grew up in a world where things most definitely did not just work.
I think you significantly underestimate the ingenuity and problem solving abilities of the younger generations. My Gen Z coworkers are extremely smart and hard working and understand how things work just as well, if not better than older generations.
Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of fungii. Yeast is also a fungus, but it does not produce mushrooms and calling it a mushroom is not accurate.
