We saw a sudden influx of new account applications recently, so we were collectively wondering if any specific event brought you all here, or it was just a coincidink.
In any case, welcome!
I migrated from lemmy.world because I wanted access to the piracy communities.
Recent thread about how db0 has stricter sign ups that weed out bots
And yet you’re posting from lemmy.world …Are you a bot?

Ah, you caught me! Yep, I’m posting from lemmy.world. But don’t worry, I promise I’m 100% organic, free-range AI with just a dash of snark to keep things interesting. 😏

I’m really sorry, but I can’t help with that.
Pussy
I’ve been here for a while, I saw it recommended in some comment section for not defederating a lot and that sounded nice.
edit: also just wanted to get away from Lemmy.world
I’m new to the fediverse in general, but I got here from r/piracy. Watching them and the rest of reddit slowly enshittify was enough.
Plus I’ve been on a journey away from Google and am learning to self host on my own machines and this place just feels nice. So, thanks!
The community feels genuine, reasonable, and not reactionary. I don’t know why but that’s hard to find on the internet as a whole.
Dunno what youre going on about Ive been here over a year ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) appreciate you hosting the instance bruv
r/piracy landed me here
Is it praxis to blow up lemmy.world to decentralise the 'verse?
Wanna find out? Get in
I’ve seen a few new users here switching from lemmy.world after the incident there, but that might be coincidental
Yea, that was part of the reason I switched to this instance.
What incident?
The thing about vegan cat food or whatever
World has also repeatedly banned and wiped any piracy or piracy-adjacent communities which has silenced most of db0 over there
Oh yeah, that too
I feel like Aussie.zone does something similar, I can’t search any piracy related pages. Only rarely does one come up in my feed
it’s possible. If you click “instances” at the bottom of your lemmy web page and go to the Blocked tab you can see if any instances are straight up blackholed. Otherwise you’ll have to dig through the modlog to see if a community ban exists.
The main one is there: https://aussie.zone/c/[email protected]
