These people are so out of touch it’s actually hilarious, for some reason they think that people still live in the cold war era, like throwing around some ancient language and random symbols should make the people afraid or something…fucken pathetic

In my experience, it still does for conservatives and many born before the mid seventies. None of them can tell you why or even what any of the terms or symbols mean, but they’ve been told all their lives those things are bad and have never stopped to wonder why.

Luckily the brain washing era is almost over, it’s time for new blood and fresh ideas, nothing rooted in irrational fear of anything or anyone we don’t understand, if people are willing, and it seems that most are, things can hopefully change the better, we had enough of the same ancient people deciding which world my 12 year old should grow up in

I with that were true but it’s worse than ever. Corporate and government propaganda pervades every aspect of people’s lives in the United States.

Oh you sweet, summer child. Corporate social media is a much more effective propaganda tool than any Cold War era stuff could ever hope to be.

While I agree with you that’s way more aggressive, and flat out crazy, but Mamdani win is living proof that there’s still a glimpse of hope, just looks at the millions they spent to make sure that he never comes to power, and still failed, the change has to start somewhere, right?

they think that people still live in the cold war era

Their target audience is boomers. Now if only they still had the Russophobia that they did back then…

Yeah but we need that good old-fashioned vigilance against Russian propaganda … now the same folks swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

Some do. Most are still busy swallowing their own government propaganda. And it’s hard to spot when we’re bombarded from birth and (excuse the well-worn cliché) the memory hole has become an ever-expanding black hole.

The man had more detailed plans than I ever saw from Trump. From any presidential candidate, honestly. This just feels like the standard right-wing willful ignorance.

social democracy = socialism = communism = USSR. Why do we even have some many different words?

It’s to devalue the words themselves - if you do it fast enough the masses literally stop taking the concepts behind the words seriously. And stop talking about it. “Communism” is a great example of that.

And pre-cald-war’s anti-communism propaganda (there still was anticommunist propaganda back then too) folk in the USA actually got educated (by their own independent citizens) what communism literally is, the meaning of the word, what it relates to and what it doesn’t relate to (especially ‘the political gov system’).

I’ve noticed their president uses “unconditional” a lot (for everything against their agenda without any relation to the constitution or any explanation ofc).
          Same thing.

Yeah, we should just, like, convert to 0 and 1, where 0 means no or bad, and 1 means yes or good, depending on the context.

At some point the smear campaigns go from frustrating to somehow funny.

“Ah yes, the “working people need to be able to afford housing and food and transportation” guy. He’s the literal reincarnation of the entire Soviet Union. Don’t ask us to explain how, something something socialism.”
