Samsung wanted this to be their week, and it still mostly is with the launch of the Fold 6, Flip 6, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 launch is incredibly close, so the leaks for it are only going to ramp up. Today, a fresh report is here to keep things moving toward that mid-August Pixel 9 event.
A site called Dealabs says they’ve uncovered information for the entire Pixel 9 family, giving us the storage configurations, colors of each device, and potential Euro pricing. Since we see information like this regularly before a launch, I’m just going to assume they found a retailer who slipped up early, even if they won’t say it.
So what do we know now about the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold? Let’s break it all down.
The Pixel 9 is now rumored to come in 4 different colors (Obsidian, Porcelain, Cosmo, and Mojito) and with two storage amounts (128GB or 256GB). Those models should then be priced at €899 and €999, respectively.
For the Pixel 9 Pro, we could see the following:
• Storage options, prices: 128GB (€1099), 256GB (€1199), 512GB (€1329)
• Colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, Pink – The 512GB model might only come in Obsidian and Hazel.
For the Pixel 9 Pro XL, we could see the following:
• Storage options, prices: 128GB (€1199), 256GB (€1299), 512GB (€1429), 1TB (€1689)
• Colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, Pink – The 512GB model might only come in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Hazel. The 1TB model might only launch in Obsidian.
And finally, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold could come in the following:
• Storage options, prices: 256GB (€1899), 512GB (€2029)
• Colors: Obsidian, Porcelain
What should we take from this? A couple of things. A lot of this sounds reasonable and the colors are all colors we have seen Google use before. The new one is Pink, and this information does not match up correctly to that pink Pixel 9 we saw earlier. Today’s leak suggests the Pixel 9 Pro will be the only device in pink, yet again, that’s not what we’ve already seen – it was a regular Pixel 9 in pink.
The other thing to keep in mind is that retailers who drop this info early, tend to either use placeholders or they use weird estimates on pricing that fluctuate. These prices do look more specific than we often seen from early retailer leaks, so that gives them some more weight.
And finally, you can’t simply take Euro pricing and just switch the symbol to a dollar sign. In other words, don’t automatically switch to the Pixel 9 starting at $899 here. It could! But this is not a suggestion or confirmation of that happening just yet. If anything, drop $100 off to $799 to match what Euro pricing looked like compared to US pricing for the Pixel 8 series.
Other than that, any other thoughts from you?

Google wants to imitate Apple pricing without the build quality, customer support, or performance to compare. Sales will tank then be on sale half off by Black Friday in some regions.
100%
Hah, fuck that.
Yup. Skipping this iteration or switching brands after this lol
Well I guess I’m not getting any of these phones lol. That’s ridiculously expensive for an incremental upgrade. I don’t even consider “AI” jargon as an improvement in the first place. I’d be happy if my pixel 6 pro had newer cameras and a flat screen, done. And I ain’t pain what they’re asking.
You could get the pixel 8 when its on discount. It would continue to get updates for years to come.
While true, misses the point that a new phone should not cost this much
True, but outside of buying midrange smartphones from Nothing, oneplus, samsung. What else can you do?
128GB for over 1000 EUR? Are they mad???

Not mad, just greedy
Agreed, but it still is the only device that can run GrapheneOS.
You can always buy the 8A, or any of the older still-supported models. Buying a phone has become like buying a car, you can buy them new but you’re really paying a premium for a privilege that doesn’t matter that much in the long run.
I got my Pixel 8 for $400 and it was already the most I was willing to pay. I would keep buying cheap $300 alternatives before burning $800 on a new phone.
You must be talking USD I guess. Because I don’t remember the last time a high end phone new was $800
yes, USD
Remember when Pixels used to be more along the line of “bang for your buck”?
Pixel line has always been premium, “nexus” is the one where its bang for your buck.
Yes but no, I had a Nexus one and Galaxy Nexus, the 6 was my first pixel. It was flagship price at that point.
The Nexus 6 was so good. Still miss it. Huge phone, mind. But it was great.
Worry? Buy it or don’t.
🤣 These prices are hilarious
I hope it doesn’t sell well
I don’t think you have to worry about that. I don’t think any Pixel has ever sold well by most metrics.
I mean I’m not worried about anything, I’m just not going to buy it.
Yikes, Pixels are already pretty low volume compared to other flagships, and they don’t have the best reputation for long term reliability, as well as having exynos based processors which means high heat, low performance and (comparatively, against TSMC fabbed snapdragon 8 series) terrible efficiency/power consumption
The huge price steps are pretty annoying. 512 GB Micro SD are extremely cheap, yet google (and apple, too) charge 200€ extra.
I hate to say it but a microsd is not the same as the flash used in phones, but they’re still bending you over the counter for the upgrade
Indeed, micro SD is much slower, but for some things that just doesn’t matter. Music and movies play just fine from an SD card
Sure, but that’s irrelevant to the point being made.
That said, I’d love to have expandable storage. Functionality out of the box aside, we need to start taking e-waste seriously, and upgradability is a major part of that along with long term software support, durability, and repairability.

Won’t happen unless it’s more profitable, which it will never be without government intervention. Luckily the EU is on the right track, but the US don’t seem to care
Insane prices for basically the same phones of previous years models. And still no easily replaceable battery.
Never buy a Pixel at full price. They drop or go on offer after a few months. At least from what I have seen in the UK. Carriers often do good deals too. It may take a few months but buying on or near to release you’ll pay a premium.
Ya I got the 6 pro at release cause I needed a phone at that time. Usually they always have remembrance day sales.
I wish online journalists would stop referring to these things as “leaks”. They’re just tip-off emails from the marketing department.
Journalists want clicks, and they get more by talking about “leaks”.
