Insult all americans? No. But those nazis who voted for tromp, that world be totally okay.

Honestly, this is sickening and i feel pity for the decent people of the usa. They don’t deserve a fascist felon in the white house.

All Americans? As in every single individual? I don’t think so. There are many who will suffer under Trump regime I’m sure.

The generalized Americans? Hell yeah. And I bet majority of the individuals I mentioned above would back it up

I’m an American. I hate and oppose trump with every fiber of my being. I am ashamed to live here. I feel like I’m trapped, surrounded by idiots. I can’t afford to uproot my family and move out.

I don’t want to come to lemmy and be insulted, just because I’m in a country where too many people made the wrong choice.

The USA still has good people. Anti-fascist, anti-trump, anti-ignorance/cruelty/racism/hate.

We didn’t all insult all Russians of the acts of Putin. Why insult us?

I guess I have to buy a Nazi flag and learn how to goose step now.

I keep thinking about something I read on Lemmy not long ago; I know people that I would need to keep Anne Frank secret from.

The other thought is this is a case where they absolutely refuse to see the emperor has no clothes. And only for the simple reason that he gives them someone to hate.

All these people need someone to hate and they don’t dare see that about themselves.

    American here.

If Linus Torvalds bans Americans over something stupid we did, and my nationality gets insulted, this will be me:

Yep… we’re all garbage now and it fucking sucks. To the world, we were sorry, now there’s no excuse for us.

I’d like to use it as an opportunity to openly shame the people that censored and viciously attacked those that voiced VALID criticisms of Kamala Harris.

She had an easy task: offer voters a left wing platform. What did she do? She offered a platform that was barely distinguishable from Trump’s. She promised to keep the Palestinian genocide going full steam ahead, promised not to even think about Single Payer, promised actually nothing as far as I’m concerned.
She literally could have lied and promised all kinds of things that she would never do and she didn’t even think it was necessary to do that.

It is my opinion that she either: A.) thought that running as “not Trump” would win her the Presidency.
B.) knew that it wouldn’t matter if she lost because it would allow her to raise even more funds using scaremongering tactics about Trumpism in the next election cycle.

In hindsight, democrats had a horrible strategy letting Biden run the second time. Harris didn’t have much time to present a good platform that would have been her own - she was already the VP, so she couldn’t go directly against Biden, no one would have bought that.

I think Israel/Palestine gets too much attention. An average voter wanted to hear the candidate say they’ll fix immigration and their personal finances. Harris was not terribly vocal on either (although I believe she would have done just fine on both). What Harris did was mainly obtaining celebrity endorsements, while Trump got headlines with his (arguably crazy) policies that appealed to the simpletons.

America is full of hateful people. They are not (just) dumb. They hate. The orange cunt won because these people wanted to fuck “the others” so bad that they are ready to stand “hardships” in the name of “getting the others fucked hard”.

Basically, a huge bunch of people are saying “I’m screwed bpt have you seen them?”

No one deserves to be insulted for their nationality.

I wasn’t in that thread, but that’s not an appropriate way for folks to treat eachother

Also, Americans are grieving what may be legitimately the end of vital freedoms, the end of safety for many minority populations, which many of my loved ones belong to, potentially the end of free elections, and an independent court.

It also may mean the complete derailment of any global climate policies as the US steps back from climate commitments, which may prompt other super powers to do the same. That is not a good thing.

Some space to grieve would be welcome. If you live in Russia you have my love and my condolences, I’m sure you have been living with anxieties about your interests not being represented for a long time.

The Americans grieving the end of their democracy are an overwhelming minority.
Trump won the popular vote and about 100 million Americans didn’t even vote. The majority of Americans deserve to be called fascist since they allow one to rule them.

Yep. Thats true. Its also likely not as true for the population that is here.

I did not vote for a fascist. I did vote. I am an American. And I am not a fascist.

I guess all that comes next is learning how to protest. I’ve never been to one before due to social anxiety and my sleep disorder. I guess now is the time to learn how to participate in one.

Most Americans and Russians are great people. Unfortunately even great people can fall for propaganda.
