Hand grenades are vastly superior fighters compared to Navy SEALs. When hand grenades complete their mission, they simply cease to exist, but Navy SEALs get book deals and apparently twitter accounts

      Non-service connected condition.

      SEALs get book deals

      This is a conundrum…

In their defense, it turns out that a lot of the insanity and violent mood swings are related to brain damage from firing 10.3s indoors constantly.

But on the other hand what the fuck.

there’s plenty of unhealthy shit in military, like TBI from arty and grenades, lead exposure from primers and crayons, the reason why there’s “do not eat” written on claymores, and few others. but none of these things appear to happen that much in other units. there were attempts to disband navy seals over their rotten unit culture, but nothing of that happened yet

Yeah, they are sort of just the worst in JSOC (although one wonders about the CIA direct action groups). But between this shit, the Nazis in the KSK, and Australian helicopter musical-chairs, it really does seem like there’s something about special operations that attracts the worst a country has to offer.

Psychopathic traits probably help someone be an effective killer? I imagine they also probably mean someone is likely a shit stain of a person.

I know they specifically mentioned temperament in the selection section of one of the sniper manuals. Not sure about special operations.

Honestly, most special operations selection processes seem to have very little to do with the actual what most Tier 1 units actually do. CAG, for example, has a 40 mile solo nav course as part of their selection.

Literally every guy I knew in 10th group that went out for CAG came back with some ankle injury from the land nav course. Didn’t help my gopher-hole paranoia. Why is seemingly every stateside DZ just teeming with some kind of burrowing creatures?
