Only Ariel Sharon himself can even rival the current Israeli coalition government for far right bona fides, there are sitting cabinet ministers openly discussing ethnic cleansing to international press.
Indeed. The Israeli right is theocratic, semi-openly genocidal and headed by a guy with corruption cases waiting for him as soon as he’s not Prime Minister anymore (which he’s solving with forever war). Liberal right my ass.
Yeah, most early communism was VERY egalitarian for women (not really sure about homosexuals, those don’t tend to feature much in 19th century writings), but that got rapidly stomped into the ground later.
And as much as tankies love to preach you need to read the source material, they mostly don’t.
My god, last time the fact I’ve actually read Das Kapital came up, they pretty much just went for “no you didn’t”. Yes I did, and I didn’t even get a T-shirt for the densely-written pain.
As per the gay thing, it was part of the blanket repeal of Tsarist laws, and didn’t get put back in until Stalin was on the scene. In the meanwhile advocacy groups sprang up and were tolerated, so that tells you it wasn’t just on paper. I have no idea if anyone has gone deeper into the historical sources for our benefit. (Preferably in English, because my Russian is кое-как)

You’re a stronger man than I. I’ve read other Marx, but Das Kapital is like trying to eat a desert’s worth of sand without even the mercy of a glass of water.
I personally love when tankie-grads larp LGBT symbols, as if they actually supported trans and gay rights. Everyone sees through this shit right?
I also love seeing identity/symbols co-opted by authoritarians.
The famous authoritarian Israel… Yeah…
They currently have a right government but its a liberal right not a authoritarian right as in USA.
I’d argue apartheid , warrantless and unlimited imprisonment of an ethnic group, state censorship of the press, and a two-tier society enshrined in their constitution is pretty hard right, and authoritarian.

Yes, the state where interfaith marriages aren’t allowed and that regularly domes journalists for the crime of being journalists.
Here at NCD we only approve of states that are equal-opportunity killers.
Fucking what.

excuse me? It’s only “liberal” in that everyone has the right to kill muslims.
It reminds me of the Onion video titled “First female dictator hailed as step forward for women.”
This lady becomes a dictator and then goes though and kills her political enemies along with some random civilians.
Imelda marcos??
The really early USSR was socially progressive, including legal tolerance of homosexuality. Stalin absolutely shut that down.

Pretty much. And then once you unfuck the language what he’s actually saying is pretty underwhelming. Hours I’ll never get back…
