If I were to speculate, I’d say it came from the == operator (Boolean equality comparison) and then later, when that was extended to include Boolean less-than-or-equal and greater-than-or-equal, the decision was made to keep them 2 characters long. Do I think it’s generally useful? No, not at all.

Text-to-image generation has been worth it to get a jumping-off point for a sketch, or to get a rough portrait for a D&D character.

Regular old ChatGPT has been good on a couple occasions for humor (again D&D related; I asked it for a “help wanted” ad in the style of newspaper personals and the result was hilariously campy)

In terms of actual problem solving… There have been a couple instances where, when Google or Stack Overflow haven’t helped, I’ve asked it for troubleshooting ideas as a last resort. It did manage to pinpoint the issue once, but usually it just ends up that one of the topics or strategies it floats prove to be useful after further investigation. I would never trust anything factual without verifying, or copy/paste code from it directly though.

I don’t know how the Indian legal system works, but then if necessary you would try to compel Wikipedia to turn over contact information for those users, as with a subpoena in US law.

After looking over the article, Wikipedia has turned over user info to that effect. ANI is mad because they weren’t allowed to edit their own page, essentially, which is disallowed on Wikipedia in general because of bias.

The hearing began in July after ANI petitioned the court, saying it had tried to change the allegedly defamatory material on Wikipedia but its edits were not accepted.

The ANI page was put under “extended confirmed protection” - a Wikipedia feature used to stop vandalism or abuse - where only users who have already done a certain number of edits can make changes to a page.

I have no idea if it’s an aged sauce. Regardless, I meant it was opened many many years prior
