Started using Linux in 2010 on a virtual machine on a Windows XP machine that was really not meant to run it and it was God awful. But I knew that it was the virtual machine not Linux itself. After that I was using my laptop for school and a Windows update completely broke it and I absolutely had to use it for the next class that I was going to in like five minutes and I had a flash drive with a live Linux environment already on it and so I just used that. However, once I was done with class that day, my first thought was why should I even go in and attempt to fix this Windows machine when Linux has been working fine for me all day. And so I just went ahead and wiped the disk and ran the installer. And I’ve been using Linux ever since. I do generally keep a Windows virtual machine around, just in case, but it’s extremely rare that I’ve ever needed to use it.

Any that will accept a debit card at least. As far as the credit card bill you could be right about that one. Credit card bills, car payments, and mortgages are the hardest ones to deal with since they are direct bank withdrawals.

However, I don’t do anything that would require insurance for the scenario that was laid out in this onion link, but I would like a cypherpunk car insurance or house insurance or something.

shortwavesurfer@monero.townto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do your parents help you financially?English0·1 year agoYes, my mom and I own a home together, because she is divorced, and I am legally blind, which makes it a bitch to find work. I’m actually doing better than her though because I did not fall into the stupid debt trap with high interest credit cards or student loans and since I’m blind I can’t drive a car so don’t have insurance and a car payment to worry about. So while I am not rich by any means, I actually have more money every single month than she does. Easily. Except for tax time, that is. That time she does have more money than I do, but only for a short time until it gets eaten by the credit cards.
I vow to lock arms and defeat these tyrants.
I don’t think Haveno is going to end up on Cloudflare.
Then they fight you…
The Streisand effect is a real thing. The more they push this narrative, the people who actually think will start to wonder why they are pushing this narrative so hard and take an actual look at the thing.
Take those scammers for instance. They purposely use bad English and things like that in order to single out people at risk because anybody who knows better will not fall for it and those who do are the victims they actually want.
The more they mention Monero, the better it is for us and the worse it ends up for them.

Consume everything you can. Go down the rabbit hole so deep you’re afraid you’ll never come back. To start with, I suggest Monero Talk. That’s where you can start to listen to podcasts about it. And to get your first, you can go to xmrbazaar.com and click “Earn XMR”

Monero
I would avoid because we are unsure of their status as to whether they are still active or have tried to exit scam. Haveno is your best option.
Edit: if you have no Monero at all use trocador.app to convert a small bit of BTC to at least 0.11 XMR using an instant exchange. Once done then use Haveno.

I do this and I use Proton as my email provider. I think as long as you set the email security standards, which Proton, for example, teaches you how to do, you should be fine.
