Reduces by one 1/8th. Not TO one eighth. A 12 pound ball would weigh 10.5 pounds and be one size category smaller. The wizard would have to cast it several times to get musket ball sized ammunition.
Though I would throw this under ‘rule of cool.’ Maybe the reduced cannonballs are a little more dense and ignore a little armor or something. Treat them like magic animation. Wizard did spend a bunch of spells to make it happen. Give them the actual magic weapon if they do a little quest to make it happen. Regular old glue isn’t going to hold a piece of jewelry to the end of a musket. You need a master armsmith who can work magic items to do that for you.
That just means they can handle a higher CR creature, and combat might actually prove challenging for once. Since that guy is only shooting his magic cannon every other round at best.
Enlarge Reduce specifically says the weight changes by 1/8th every time you go down a size category.

Guys sleep at the plant. They have showers and beds. They’ll spend a week there, rake in an ass load of overtime, and go home for a few hours a week. Rinse, repeat. To what end I have no idea, not like you can do that forever

OH MY GOD
Edit, to add:
Once I figured out what my modem thought my router’s address even was that worked immediately. Jellyfin is still giving me one minor headache after another but it is working, and these are all issues I can solve.
Now I have the unenviable task of resuming work on ripping literally hundreds of DVDs.

I’m not mad about paying it. I’m mad that the employer is treating it as an option and not an obligation

It’s been a little bit, I suspect the issue was getting my modem and router to allow that type of traffic. It wasn’t the firewall. I remember spending a lot of time trying to get port forwarding set up so these fucking things would talk to each other the way I wanted and that’s when I hit the “you can’t do this with your set up try something else” message in the last guide I looked at.
As I recall it was an issue with either my router or the actual modem I got from CenturyLink. I would have to go back and actually try again to get specifics. I right I’d eliminated the router as the culprit but I could be wrong about that, I was going back and forth between them. Port forwarding wasn’t doing anything, there was some issue trying to forward between the modem and router, and from what I remember that’s where I ran in to the “yeah you can’t do this try something else” bit in the guide I’d found.
I was basically never able to see the server I had running on any other device. I’d set up firewall permissions as far as I could tell.
I have spent hours trying to get some kind of server set up, without ever really being able to connect. Eventually in my furious troubleshooting Googlepalooza I eventually found a guide that had my problem addressed in it and it boiled down to “you should find a different way to do this.” I’ve long since given up

It’s getting increasingly hard to find things locally, and frequently I’m left ordering things online after going to 3 different stores in town trying to find something specific. More than once it’s been a replacement or a refill of something I bought locally a few years ago.
It’s not a matter of “oh well Menards has the screws the right size but they’re Phillips drive.” It’s “this size is only available online, if you order from us it’ll take 6 days or more. Might still be Phillips idk.” And Amazon can get me what I need tomorrow.
