  • Reduces by one 1/8th. Not TO one eighth. A 12 pound ball would weigh 10.5 pounds and be one size category smaller. The wizard would have to cast it several times to get musket ball sized ammunition.

Though I would throw this under ‘rule of cool.’ Maybe the reduced cannonballs are a little more dense and ignore a little armor or something. Treat them like magic animation. Wizard did spend a bunch of spells to make it happen. Give them the actual magic weapon if they do a little quest to make it happen. Regular old glue isn’t going to hold a piece of jewelry to the end of a musket. You need a master armsmith who can work magic items to do that for you.

That just means they can handle a higher CR creature, and combat might actually prove challenging for once. Since that guy is only shooting his magic cannon every other round at best.

  • It’s been a little bit, I suspect the issue was getting my modem and router to allow that type of traffic. It wasn’t the firewall. I remember spending a lot of time trying to get port forwarding set up so these fucking things would talk to each other the way I wanted and that’s when I hit the “you can’t do this with your set up try something else” message in the last guide I looked at.

  • As I recall it was an issue with either my router or the actual modem I got from CenturyLink. I would have to go back and actually try again to get specifics. I right I’d eliminated the router as the culprit but I could be wrong about that, I was going back and forth between them. Port forwarding wasn’t doing anything, there was some issue trying to forward between the modem and router, and from what I remember that’s where I ran in to the “yeah you can’t do this try something else” bit in the guide I’d found.

I was basically never able to see the server I had running on any other device. I’d set up firewall permissions as far as I could tell.

  • Or even common ones that aren’t the biggest sellers.

It’s getting increasingly hard to find things locally, and frequently I’m left ordering things online after going to 3 different stores in town trying to find something specific. More than once it’s been a replacement or a refill of something I bought locally a few years ago.

It’s not a matter of “oh well Menards has the screws the right size but they’re Phillips drive.” It’s “this size is only available online, if you order from us it’ll take 6 days or more. Might still be Phillips idk.” And Amazon can get me what I need tomorrow.
