Gambling addiction is a medical issue in exactly the same way every other addiction is a medical issue. We are busy designing a world of addictions, due to the profit motive. Food, games, phones, all have been cynically designed to be as addictive as possible and lure in the children that conservatives claim to be so concerned about. It’s time to ban conservatives and solve this problem and all the other problems that are caused by too much conservatism. The only thing they don’t conserve is the environment, which is collapsing around us.

We are wistful for the days when our biggest problem was getting rid of kings and queens. Our first order of business is getting rid of bigots and racists. Then we can focus on alleviating the stranglehold of business, which will clear the path for dealing with climate change and investing in our health and education.

Is this mostly a ADHD thing? They tried to make me learn times tables at school but that never stuck. Recently had to solve a problem with a CRC and part of that was manually calculating a long division in binary. At some point realised I didn’t even know how to do that in decimal so wound the clock back 35 years and learnt it from scratch. Badda bing badda boom, working CRC 🤓

Looking at the conflicts they have been explictly or covertly involved in, it does seem like they are attempting to create a hegemony. That’s not to say that some good doesn’t get done along the way but it is more of a byproduct than the intent.

I remember when my daughter was tiny she had some very cute behaviours that I was trying to capture on camera but sometimes those precious and elusive moments must remain as sweet memories.

What evidence do you have that there is crime in your neighborhood, have you seen any firsthand? How well do you know your neighbours and wider community, are they concerned about any threats? Worrying about something like this is not healthy. I can’t imagine living somewhere I need to continually look over my shoulder.

While I recognise some of this dysfunction in my life, I think it is possible to avoid the worst excesses. I have a workshop and a tool fetish, which can be expensive but most of my tools have paid for themselves several times over considering the money saved doing things for myself.

We have bad impulse control but we’re also good at improvising, it’s not all bad. I don’t actually care that much about having an attention deficit, I just want to be treated compassionately, the way I treat other people.
