New local first ,once exhausted I jump over to new all.
Active
I usually change to new because
- I usually get the same post over and over for a long time in my feed
- not from the USA and I’m sick of the Trump/Harris drama
You can set it to not show posts you have already seen.
Some Lemmy clients offer keyword filtering if you really want to get aggressive about filtering out US election stuff.
I want to control the percentage of stuff each sub shows me. I want to subscribe to news and world news and politics, but then 100% of my feed is politics, despite the fact that 99% of my subscriptions are NOT politically based.
I blocked all US news stuff to clear my feed, there are a lot of politics related posts here.
Top (of which there are several)
All - New ( nsfw off)
Hot
You JUST said new…now you say hot. Heeeeyyyy what is this??? Some kind of scam???
They’re providing options, like a poll.
New
I do it by new, cuz if not my feed stays the same for like a week
Try subscribing to more things. Theres more to Lemmy than just linux.
I’m tryna find as many active subs as a I can. Any suggestions?
Well, what are your interests/hobbies?
Subscribed - scaled.
‘Subscribed - Scaled’ to catch up, then ‘Subscribed - New’ to interact.
Are there any apps that support scaled? I’ve tried a few and no luck so far. I like the scaled view.
Voyager
jerboa does.
Sync does
I have everything by New. It’s not populous enough yet that there’s anything I need to skip automatically.
Scaled and then new in a community.
TopSixHour
That’s the one I use :) I like it. Always a fresh feed every day. I don’t view my subscriptions by default though, I view /all with a lot of blocking done over the months.
Subscribed - New
Subscribed - New
Usually in this order
- Subscribed - New
- All - New
- All - Active or Hot (not really sure what the difference is between those two)
- All - Top 12 hours
