Do you guys talk a lot to each other apart from that? If you do, then he’s the fault. But if you don’t, he might be trying to reach out to you and grabbing at straws. People do this sometimes.
I don’t want to assume but from the tone of your message it sounds like the latter. I can’t really tell though.
