…probably wouldn’t as well with the specific type of tape shown in the OP, but for most other types, this is a good one to shove into your muscle memory when tearing off a piece.
If you get really frustrated you can run your tongue around it. Your tongue is much more sensitive than your finger and will find the ledge. Gross though.
Also works for testing 9V batteries.

Just run your nail in a back and forth motion along the tape and you find the edge easily.
“Found it!!”
proceeds to tear the tape into strips that refuse to combine to peel the whole thing at once
