My wife and I make okay money in a middle class area, but, due to a combination of good luck, and contrived to circumstances, we recently got to watch a college football game in the stadium’s super executive corporate sponsor level suite. It was awesome. Open bar, amazing catered food, and people networking all around me who are clearly in the c-suite of their respective companies. I had a list of crazy things I was going to say if someone asked me what I did, but it never came up.

Seriously! I like to joke I was so poor I didn’t go to school but there is an air of truth to it, I didn’t go until like 6th grade (it caused social services to come out the few times we did attend growing up), dropped out in 12th because I’m a dumbass. Somehow stuff worked out and I landed in a pretty decent IT job/role.

I listen to some of my coworkers and hear about an entire other world. I still wear sneakers from 2020ish while their talking about replacing a computer they paid 10k for when the pandemic struck. I have no hard feelings toward them or their choices, or any sense of envy but, all I can think is “shit, we are totally from different worlds”.
