My dad & I are currently living in a studio apartment, so 1 room for bedroom - kitchen - living room & 1 for bathroom; his business is not doing well at the moment so money’s tight rn. Wondering how others live.

Living in a 2 room apartment. So one living room, one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a small hallway. About 65sqm/700sqf total. This is a major city in Europe, and I live outside the center, but not really on the outskirts either.

None. We have a living room where there’s a bed on one side and something called “Nasszelle” in German.
The direct translation would be “wet cell”. It doesn’t deserve the name bathroom, it’s just a toilet, sink and shower crammed into the smallest room possible.

Apartment in a country house, 3 bedrooms, one living/dining area, kitchen, full bathroom, small restroom, cellar/pantry, small garage (which can’t fit our current car), one parking place, decent size terrace and backyard. Two of my kids share one of the bedrooms.

We are thinking of moving to the city, as the kids are getting ready to start uni, and we are looking at 4-6 bedrooms, so every kid has their own room, and maybe even have one or two dedicated offices, since we work from home. We currently have desks in our bedroom and the livingroom. And hopefully more than 2 toilets, since it’s a struggle every morning :)

    4 bedrooms 2 baths 5 people.

Living with my best friends and my girlfriend. One of my roommates is also my girlfriends ex wife(still actually married for insurance reasons) and her best friend is also an ex of hers but everyone is on good terms and has each others backs. It’s a strange family I have found myself a part of but I love them.

In the US: 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath; 3 stories since the basement is finished. The basement has my office and the (giant) couch + TV along with the half-bath, guestroom, laundry and a storage closet for mostly outdoor gear. Ground floor has a bedroom where our roommate lives (helping him get out of credit card debt), bathroom, kitchen, dining. Upstairs is the main suite: just my wife’s and my room with attached bath and closet.

House has an attached 2-car garage and a big 3-4 car driveway as well, though overall the lot is pretty small by suburban standards in our area (<0.25 acre). Have two tiny dogs, and lots of plans for upgrades and remodels.

We (me, spouse and 1 child) rent a big house with my grandmother who I care for. It’s 4 bedroom/2 bath, got a kitchen, living room, laundry room, a large dining room and extra living room that used to be a garage. It’s my parent’s place, while they live in an apartment for work.

The huge place is not worth it. I hate taking care of my grandmother. She has dementia and I’m burned out but we can’t afford to live anywhere else.

We have five bedrooms and one bathroom for five people. Well, usually more people because there’s always someone’s partner here as well. I used to share a bedroom and it’s horrible for my anxiety. I need the luxury of privacy.

2 bedrooms (one is an office that doubles as a guest room with a pull-out couch) 2½ baths

The two full baths are attached to the bedrooms and are pretty cramped with pretty cheap fittings, but they do the trick. The powder room is downstairs, it’s kind of an odd shape due to where it is in the house, and weirdly big but not in a way that makes it particularly more useable and still manages to feel a little cramped. No real counter space to speak of, or other storage options besides the cabinet under the sink. The master bedroom is weirdly huge, and the office is an ok size, but in both cases the way they’re laid out with doors and windows, outlets, etc. often leaves us wishing we had a couple more inches any time we think about rearranging or getting new furniture.

We could only afford this house because it was my mother in laws, she sold it too us for cheap when she moved in with her mother to take care of her.

My parents have 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a powder room, and then I guess it might be called a ¾ bathroom in the basement. The master bath is pretty sweet with a whirlpool tub (albeit a fairly small one all things considered) 2 sinks, and a shower (the shower is nothing particularly special) and a TV.

The bathroom between the two other bedrooms is nothing too special, but has a nice-sized linen closet and pretty decent counter space.

The powder room is small, nothing too special there.

The basement bathroom has a sink, a weirdly huge linen close, and a shower stall, no tub.

The guy who originally owned the home was a landscaper who did a lot of business with a local builder so they tricked the house out for him. He ran his business from the home and we’re pretty sure that was the point of the basement bathroom, he could go in through the basement door and shower without tracking dirt through the house.

The master bedroom is huge, 2 walk-in closets, high ceilings, plenty of space for a king sized bed, a plethora of dressers, a couple small bookshelves, a desk, and a chaise with room to spare. The other 2 bedrooms are decent sized, nothing too special, with pretty huge closets.

It’s a pretty sweet house, I wouldn’t be surprised if my parents could get a cool million for it if they sold it now, the stars kind of aligned, they’d just inherited a bit of money, the market was right, and the original owner killed himself there, so they paid less than half of that probably about 15 years ago now.

The house we lived in before that had 3 bedrooms, none of which were particularly big, and one bathroom.

The apartment I was living in when I first moved out (to live with my then-girlfriend-now-wife, and a roommate) had 3 bedrooms that were oddly spacious. The master bedroom was pretty big, but again weirdly laid-out, with an en suite bathroom that was nothing too special, it had a pretty decent sized shower that was nothing too special, and there was a second bathroom by the two bedrooms with your typical shower/bathtub. The two other bedrooms were decent-size, our roommates technically had a walk-in closet that doubled as the utility closet for the water heater (and if I miss one thing about that apartment it was the water heater, you could practically brew tea with water from the faucet and it never seemed to run out, and since the apartment wasn’t all that big it was almost instant) one of those bedrooms started off as mine, because my wife and I had just recently started dating and I wanted to have my space in case things didn’t work out between us (we’d been friends for a good while before that and our plans to move in together had been in the works well before we started dating) but eventually it became her office/storage and additional living space.

Honestly I liked that apartment, I could probably still be living there pretty happily if they didn’t keep jacking the rent up. It was a first floor apartment with a washer and dryer and a decent little patio, my only major gripe was that the kitchen was tiny and there was no decent place to put any sort of dining table (at least not with how we used the space, we’d rather have a decent entertainment center setup and couches for entertaining) so we ate at the coffee table or on tray tables.

Nice. We have a double bed & the bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet and we also somehow managed to fit a washing machine in there & air dry the laundry on the balcony.

Yeah I feel like an outlier in this post. I was engaged and dreamt big, like 2-5 kids, 2-4 dogs. So I bought a big house, which I am very fortunate to afford because I live in a rural mining area. So sitting with a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 2 living area, outside area by the pool, we call it a lapa, large kitchen with two separate washing areas, triple garage + area for additional 4 vehicles. The problem was she got knocked up by someone else unfortunately 6 months later, so I have a big ass house now. So I basically opened it up for people in need, this week I will have 4-5 people living with me, an abused mother with her mother to support her during the trail, hectic what some men are capable of, next week it will be about two, basically a long-term room mate, she started out as a temp but really helps in the household looking after my dogs, so it is a win win for me, and another guy that got fired and just needs a couch for a couple of days.

Also 4 dogs, 3 adopted and one was my own.

But god I miss my small 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom flat. Sounds weird but that is all I needed except a garage which it did not have, I love working and maintaining my vehicles myself.

But I am keeping my house since property prices went crazy this last year-ish, it is now cheaper paying my bond than renting a 1 bedroom flat plus nowhere for my furry dogs. Plus if I do get my family one day, they will have an awesome house

Sameish boat here. Three bedrooms for me and my two dogs after me and my wife split up, but it’s cheaper than a smaller apartment with the current rents. I now sleep in one, grow my weed in the other and have a nice small office in the third.

I gotta admit it’s way easier keeping a studio clean and organized than a house, lol.

Four bedrooms between six people, there’s two couples. We’ve got a main bathroom, a half bath, and an ensuite.
