This isn’t that much different than the actual military
Star fleet is essentially a military organization, so that makes sense. I know they do a lot of other non-militaristic stuff, but when war happens they are the ones fighting it.
Bullshit, the food is the best version of anything you can think of and zero risk of STIs.
The military lies and exploits poverty to coerce people. The federation is a post-scarcity society so people join because they want to. Also, the purpose of Starfleet is mostly exploration (with some exceptions).
Holodeck. 🎤⬇️
Also you don’t have to wear the sexy uniform if you don’t want to explore the galaxy between holodecks.
None of these things are true? OP is a dumbfuck.
- It’s not communism. There is simply no scarcity, and therefore no need to manage distribution of resources.
- Federation officers are bound by the dress requirements of the job they freely chose. They are shown, many times, deciding to quit that life and do something else instead, and are usually supported for doing so. (This act is almost always accompanied by an immediate change in the way they dress.) Anyone not working for the Federation is shown wearing whatever tf they want; as are federation officers when they’re off-duty.
- Food is synthetic but you’re certainly not required to eat it, and characters are shown craving it for how good it is, so it’s CLEARLY not flavorless. Many of voyager’s subplots revolve around having more replicator rations, or getting more.
- “Free will is forbidden” ok did you just make this up while you were jerking yourself off?
- “All humans are automatons” this must have been something you shouted as you came

There is scarcity. Specifically, there is a scarcity of the fuel used for interstellar travel and a scarcity of inhabitable worlds to colonize as the various Federations, Empires, Collectives, and Dominions expand outward. This scarcity serves as the proximate cause of a number of flashpoints between interstellar armadas throughout the history of the franchise.
However, the organization of the Federation of Planets is at least considered Socialist, if not outright Communist, by TNG (and certainly by DS9). The assets of Starfleet are collectively owned and administered. Social demand for labor exists, but adjudication of labor is primarily meritocratic (from each according to their own ability). The government of the homeworlds is fully democratic and property is allocated by social need rather than private contract (to each according to their need).
The post-scarcity is a consequence of these reforms, not a precondition for it.
Federation officers are bound by the dress requirements of the job they freely chose.
Even that is… relatively loosely enforced. Plenty of Starfleet Officers and Crew embellish or augment their uniforms. Some disregard it entirely (Worf wears his Klingon sash while Diana Troy’s purple jumpsuit is civilian attire).

There are lots of lines about this or that replicator food not tasting like the “real thing”. But (particularly with Voyager) there’s an emphasis on making exceptional meals with relatively limited supplies.
The rest of it is pure bunk, I agree.
I have no idea where they got the idea the food is flavourless, not only is someone addicted to chocolate mousse, but there’s episodes where a diplomat from planet boring spends their whole time trying different gourmet foods/alcohols.
IIRC, Troi mentions how the replicator makes the food healthier and at one point she specifically instructs it to not do that because she wants a real ice cream sundae even if it isn’t healthy.
And Scotty can taste the difference between alcohol and synthehol.
My interpretation is that synthehol isn’t supposed to be a copy of alcohol, it’s designed to give the positive effects of alcohol without the downsides, so that taste is likely not the main consideration.
Pretty sure that’s the point. It’s bait
Most of it’s just a complaint about the military.
Not accurate at all. They eat whatever, just on the ship its mostky replicated food since that saves storage space.
No clue at all what the free will part is about.
If you are part of the federation you wear a uniform, sure. If you are not, you don’t. So what?
There’s literally a main character on the bridge who doesn’t wear a uniform for basically the whole show until a fussy captain orders her to. Point being even their military is fairly easy going. And Worf gets to wear his sash.
It’s more Star Fleet than the Federation.
No clue at all what the free will part is about.
The starship has rules and codes of conduct so that means “No veggies at dinner, no bedtimes” ancap manchildren would feel oppressed.
They don’t even have to be on the fucking starship but they’d still be mad.
If you are part of the federation you wear a uniform, sure. If you are not, you don’t. So what?
I think you meant to say starfleet instead of federation…
What’s the ancap utopia for that particular chud, then? The setting of Dead Space?
