Does this mean humans are the same species as vulcans, klingons, romulans, betazoids, trill, ocampa, and ktarians?

And that’s how the party ends up on the run for counterfeiting.
Our rule was always that if you bought 50 of something like food or ammo, you don’t have to track how many you’ve used, we’ll just assume you’re well stocked and resupplying offscreen. The limit only comes back if the party is overtly cut off from resupply, like if they are shipwrecked on an uninhabited island.
This means you can easily have a limitless supply of normal arrows but still have to track your silver arrows, smoke bomb arrows, etc. Or you can invest the money to just have a limitless supply of whatever specialty item you think is worth the cost.

4·2 months agoHave to make a few assumptions to make this workable. Im assuming we’re only allowing things that were made as a TV series, so not counting specials or anything that jumped from another medium like radio or theatrical releases. And we’re only including fiction, so news and the like wouldn’t count. And we only include things that have ended and only count the original run of a series.
With all those caveats, my best guess is I Love Lucy. Started in 1951 and the actor that played their kid is still alive, though he didn’t join the cast until 1955.

0·2 months agoAs opposed to being too hot all over and desperate for anything that gives the slightest momentary relief. Not being able stand any activity because movement just makes you hotter and the heat has sapped your will to live. Being sweaty all over no matter what you do because it’s all your body can do to keep you alive.
Our bodies generate heat. When trying to warm up, physics is on our side. When trying to cool down, we are fighting a losing battle. You’re worrying about typing in gloves while I’m trying to figure how to waterproof my whole system so I can work from my shower.

Too hot? Keep taking off clothes until you’re just a sweaty naked mess begging for the sweet release of death.
It always felt like it was trying to be canonical but no one else wanted it to be. It was the little brother desperate to join the older kids only to get ditched at every opportunity.
Which was annoying because most of the show was good, and all it would have taken is a tiny Easter egg to acknowledge it exists. As far as I know, the only thing we ever got was Jarvis in endgame being played by the same actor from Agent Carter.
It’s kind of strange that the Netflix shows are the ones that got folded into canon when they basically ignored the rest of the MCU after Avengers. But I suppose that disconnect and the more narrow focus means there’s a lot less to clean up to make it fit. That and the fact that they were popular enough for Disney to see them as valuable.
When my SO does this I always reference this scene in Duck Soup as a way to gently point out what they’re doing.

Don’t make promises unless you know you won’t have any problem keeping them.
-
Depending on the context, being early can be just as bad as being late.
-
Taking ownership is good in an environment where honesty and accountability is respected. There are far too many people that are just looking to assign blame, especially when it involves nuance or technical details they don’t fully understand.
-
Assuming reasonable discussions where everyone is acting in good faith. There are absolutely times when you need to shut down an argument before it gets a chance to grow.
-
Don’t be a dick. But you don’t have to cover up everyone else’s dickish behavior, particularly when it negatively impacts the rest of us.
-
Communicate clearly. But sometimes maybe is the correct answer. Uncertainty is a part of life and needs to be factored into decisions.
-
Bring solutions if you have them. But not every problem has obvious solutions and sometimes it’s more important to point it out quickly than it is to be the one with the answer.
-
Under promise and over deliver is generally good advice, but there are also plenty of situations that are strictly pass / fail and extra effort is wasted. Be efficient with your energy and only spend it on stuff that matters to someone.
-
Be supportive and build others up… within reason. Don’t be full of shit.
-
Honest feedback is important. Unless it’s a numerical score used for performance metrics, in which case the requirements are almost certainly unreasonable and anything less than perfect or nearly perfect is basically a disaster.
-
Learn and think, don’t just jump to conclusions. Hard to object to that as long as you aren’t wasting everyone’s time or showing an embarrassing level of ignorance.
-
Don’t let your emotions stop you from thinking clearly. But that doesn’t mean you should ignore them completely. If nothing else, needing to be dead inside to do your job is probably a good indicator that you should find another job.
-
Does anyone else find it a bit odd that aliens are all interested in human or nearly human women? One would think that most aliens would be attracted to creatures with similar characteristics to their own species. The ferengi should find us as unappealing as most of us find them.

0·3 months agoAll this effort to communicate the idea of bigger or smaller rolls instead of just giving us the total surface area. But then, this isn’t about informing the consumer it’s about making it seem bigger. If they just gave us a total measurement in sq ft that would make it too easy to compare prices.
It’s like guys measuring their dick, they aren’t terribly concerned with the validity of the measurement as long as the result sounds good.
