Every TTC subway stop should have a post office in it. The TTC should be run 24hrs a day. You should be able to pick up your package at the post office within the TTC subway stop easily.

Post offices within the GTHA really should be walking distance for most people. Go pick your package up somewhere close by, open 24hrs.

Putting post offices in Shoppers Drug Mart isn’t too bad, but it would be better if they where in 24hr donought shops.

We need to use community postal boxes more.

We need traffic cameras to automatically ticket couriers that block traffic.

We need to get ride of this ‘independent contractor’ nonsense. It’s a scam.

But for this to happen the Fed/Prov/City and Crown Corps all need to work together…so it’ll never happen.

PP has no seat, there will be no by-election anytime soon. What happens to the conservatives in the next few weeks, infighting? Trump is a total wildcard, the next month sometime will have to be done with tariffs as basic goods start to dwindle. Not to mention all the wars going on in the world, or have a chance of breaking out (India/Pakistan).

The government is too easy on crime and we grant people bail who are dangerous to release.

The left has dropped the ball on crime. Official lefty party lines on crime, of tolerating criminals, doesn’t resonate with ordinary people.

Gun control is a waste of time and money and isn’t tackling the real issue as nearly all gun crime isn’t committed by legal gun owners.

The right has created a wedge issue, and exploited it with Twitter trolls and paid shills. We’d be better off doing what Australia did, and ban almost everything.

More housing needs to be made (note that both major parties seem to agree on this).

The right sees it as building more housing, and think it is a simple fix. A small proportion of progressive voices see it as a complex issue of finance and trying to remove corporate ownership of residential stock. The subtle arguments have a hard time being heard.

More infrastructure needs to be built to capitalize on our oil and natural resources exports.

I’ve given up mostly, the planet will burn. Our species is too stupid, eventually we’ll go extinct. Climate will degrade, wars will escalate, and sooner or latter someone will push The Button.

The ‘rust belt’ is over 40 years old now. Places like Detroit have started to stabilize.

Conservatives made significant inroads, lots of people in Ontario and Atlantic Canada that heard and liked the anti-woke messaging. I don’t know how to bring these people around, and am frightened that there are so many of them. Over 40% of the popular vote.

Top down education doesn’t work, that’s how we get stuck with schools that have massive IT budgets with little to show for them. Most teachers don’t use anything beyond spreadsheets and Youtube.
I don’t think that there is an easy fix.
I’d like to think local autonomy would help, so small communities could design their own curriculum, but I’m too much of a pessimist and see such experiments failing quickly because of corruption and incompetence.

Also, you think that under PR we’ll still have Cons, Libs and NDP, maybe Green. But under PR we’ll have an extremist conservative group like the New Blue and True Conservative Party winning seats. The left will get even more splintered. And the fringe right wing part will hold power in a coalition.

This is why we need smaller riding, about 30,000 in size. Not the 100,000 to 120,000 that we have now. In a 30 day election a candidate can knock on about a 1000 doors a day, a little under a hundred doors an hour, 12 hours a day. It’s important to talk to people, understand what they need and want. Few people vote today, because ridings are so big.

Our current Parliamentary system is hundred of years old, it survived much. Yes it needs fixing, but not a complete overhaul. I’m not a revolutionary, as most people aren’t. BAV fixes split votes, almost no change from how things are done now. No need for a whole new system if BAV fixes split votes.

Countries with PR arn’t doing as great as you think politically. Right wing governments have popped up everywhere. BAV plus smaller ridings solve most problems, such as vote splitting. Perfection is the enemy of getting it done.

BAV seems like it solves 80% or current problems without being much of a change, that’s why I like it. Everything else seems like a push too far, so it never gets implemented.
