Nothing wrong with simple comforts once in a while. Sometimes I use those odd flavors as inspiration in my own cooking and baking or try to recreate the recipe.

Monosaccharide mommy is what I aspire to be.
That’s a more positive answer than “handlebars”, so let’s assume “yes”.
slakje@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Productive sites/apps to use when boredEnglish0·22 days agoLanguage learning is one thing that can be done when you only have your phone on you but want to be productive. Browsing Wikipedia can also lead you down some interesting rabbit holes where you end up learning something new. I’ll also use downtime to clean up my files and photos.
slakje@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you balance enjoying what you do with having friends?English0·26 days agoFirst, it’s not only you: making plans that accommodate everyone’s schedules and budgets can be tricky, especially if a lot of people are involved, so you might not be doing anything wrong. You can try letting them know what you want to do earlier in advance so that they know not to make plans for the day. People are more likely to respond to concrete dates, times, and locations instead of vague ones.
Also not all of your friends are going to share your hobbies and interests and that’s ok. Try inviting just the ones you know for sure enjoy the things you do, or joining clubs or activity groups for those things to potentially meet new people to do them with. The time with your other friends can be spent on things you know they want to participate in and can afford.

Worth it. I love the color, it was on sale, and I hate carrying purses.
slakje@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•How come sometimes when you try to plug in something the first time, you often have to try it the other way only to find it was right the first time and you have to go back to the other way & it worksEnglish0·30 days agoSometimes the alignment has to be very precise to get it in, and when it isn’t, it causes you to think you’ve used the wrong side/angle - especially when you aren’t looking at it directly.
Always make sure your loved ones are buckled up.
For my next trick, I’ll be turning a liter of spirits into domestic violence.

I have on several occasions left my uncovered leg as an offering for them so that they would stop zzzzZzzzZZzZing in my ear while I’m trying to sleep. They do it anyway. This is why we don’t negotiate with terrorists.
I don’t see why you couldn’t have two separate devices - a basic smartphone with only the apps you need for work (and no other personal information on it such as photos, contacts, etc.) and a “dumbphone” for personal use. I like the rugged CAT dumb phones and believe Nokia still makes decent ones.
