Was watching a series on TSA catching smugglers. One piece was on them finding a bunch of VIN plaques being mailed from Mexico to New York and it immediately popped in my head: what if they’re coming to the US, buying those wrecked cars to take to Mexico and repair, then removing the plaques and sending them to accomplices back in the US to steal another of the same model/description.
