Looks like you’re right. Taking another look at your conversation, it seems you were arguing with a Hasbera (is that how its spelled).

Just because Hezbollah are not atheists does not make them religious fanatics. Sure, they talk about God every sentence but that’s just traits from being Muslims. There are Muslims who pray for safety before going into a bathroom. Muslims generally call on God for everything; even where it wouldn’t make sense to a Jew, Christian, atheist, etc.
If they were less religious, would you be OK for them defending their land more? You are failing into a trap that the Muslims defending themselves are doing it through religious fanaticism. You are falling into pro-Zionism propaganda. They just happen to be Muslims who are defending themselves while trying to process their actions internally in a way that fits their identity. It’s not a religious war; it’s Levantine people vs non-Levantine people.
The right would do the same as Biden. You lying about this matter is just pro-Biden propaganda.
You need to stop reading and spreading right wing propaganda.
How is this right wing propaganda? The right agree with Biden on this matter. When did the pro-Biden vote get ridiculously fascist?
I don’t do photo editing (Gimp) or drawing (Krita) but I have followed many aggregated blogs such as Planet KDE, etc over the years.
I got the feeling that most people have a hard time moving or transiting to Gimp. I have seen some posts from people who love Gimp but they seem to be a miniority. On the other hand, I got the feeling the drawing community love Krita and think it’s worth learning. Krita even shows up in unexpected places such as Godot tutorials on YouTube.
I agree, outside of very, very few people it’s just a stereotype.
get upset about it being referred to as gnu+Linux or gnu/Linux
I would say it’s the opposite. Certain people get angry if you do not refer to it as GNU/Linux. These people used to be technically correct.
GNU tried to rewrite Unix from scratch under the GNU GPL license. They view their copy left license (a license where if you incorporate any code under their license, you must release the code of your project as well) as morally superior. Their kernel didn’t work out, but Linus Torvolds wrote another kernel for that GNU OS.
Obviously, GNU wanted credit for the OS components that were not Linux. That’s where the copypasta about “What you are using is in fact GNU+Linux…” came from. GNU is the heart of the free software movement so they have their fans as well that of course would also make that claim.
Of course, as the meme in the OP suggests, you can now have a Linux distro that either does not use code owned by GNU or uses very little of their code. I would argue Ubuntu, Arch, etc still are technically GNU+Linux as they use GNU’s C compiler, their C implementation, their userspace programs like Bash and grep, etc. However, Alpine uses alternatives to GNU software such as the musl C implementation.
It just feels off to me that only war could bring someone to martyrdom. There’s no way a religion wouldn’t honor those who died putting in effort. I would argue that the idea runs contradictory to pretty much any religion with a central Deity. People wouldn’t put in the effort otherwise.
According to Wikipedia (not definitive but at least this source is universal) the first martyr was a woman who did not die in a war. She was murdered for converting. This page also lists sources for ways to be martyred in nonmilitary efforts.
Here is a thread I found on reddit called Explain To Me Martyrdom that also states not all martyrs die in war.
Allah: “As faithful Muslims, I command you to make a pilgrimage to the desert in the middle of June.”
Muslims: “Yes, O Lord!” [Proceed to die of heat exhaustion.]
Allah: “Ha ha! Fuck you!” [Goes off to hang out with the virgins those guys didn’t get for not dying as martyrs.]
Why aren’t they martyrs? They literally died for their religious belief.
noun One who chooses to suffer death rather than renounce religious principles. - The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.
Is this a joke or do you have a source?
use the term invasion is if the place is outside the borders of your country.
The land of the Uyghurs which is called Xinjiang literally means “New Frontier.” Even through language, it’s obvious this land does not “fit” with the rest of China but it does not stop the Chinese government considering it their own land. (FYI the Uyghurs are a Turkic people while most of China speaks Sino-Tibetan Languages).
I’m just poking fun of the reputation it has. I hear crazy rumors about East Cleveland from “mayor stole all the funds” and it’s normal to find human remains in your yard. Mind you, I also live in the urban Midwest, it’s just East Cleveland seems next level bad.
I have noticied South Euclid is getting nicer. NE Ohio has potential, it’s just so resource starved.
Picture reminds me of East Cleveland (not to be confused with the east side of Cleveland; “East Cleveland” is it’s own city. The roads are this bad but I’m sure anyone who could fix the roads are too scared to go there…
Also looks like Detroit after some rain. The right lanes literally flood.
Midwest needs a redesign.
Saw my first cybertruck in person while on the highway today. It was pretty funny looking. Also, I doubt many vehicles were created to ride lava; let alone uneven terrain to this degree.
There is a pro side to everything. The 695 will have longer support in the aftermarket/ROM community since it essentially got a rebranding into a “new” product. That $300 Oneplus N30 is looking good right now.
Thank you for the correction. I totally did not notice that.
Tumbleweed is rock solid. I took out an old Intel based Macbook that has not been updated in two years (I stopped traveling for work and no longer needed a laptop so the software got outdated). OpenSuse Tumbleweed updated flawlessly. It switched to the newest gcc, switched over to pipewire, etc. without a single issue. I did not read the latest news as I used to do on Arch.
Also, OpenSuse is a family of distros. Choose what works for you. Tumbleweed is the main product and the base of all Suse offerings (and I recommend it).
As someone who has tried several Linux distributions what was important to me was how stable updates were. On that old Macbook, that I used for ten years; I mostly used Chakra, Arch, and Tumbleweed. That Tumbleweed install was at least six years old.
I did have one issue, but it was a kernel introduced bug. Long since fixed. Someone messed up Apple EFI boot; so I had to load the EFI menu when booting and then select my internal SSD to start the OS.
If you need snapd, install it. It’s not like I now consider you a degenerate for using snaps. It’s just a packaging format. I just understand why only Canonical enables it by default. If anything its annoying there is a handful of apps that provide snaps but not flatpaks.
Outside of certbot, I cannot think of anything that requires snapd over flatpak. I think certbot also has a PIP installation method anyways. I think it makes sense for everyone but Canonical to simply disable it or remove it by default. It’s not personal, flatpak won the format war outside a few niche programs.
Sadly, even taking about issues like this one outside of [email protected] will get you called out for spreading “Republican propaganda” (as you can’t make it seem that Biden and his allies want to expand the current war). I hate to sound like a doomer but bleak times (are most likely) ahead.
