It’s one thing to say how the Holocaust is linked to a variety of other atrocities committed by fascists and imperialists, but it honestly sounds like you’re trying to say that downplaying the Holocaust isn’t that bad.

As Communists, we are interested in the truth. This means we have to accept well-documented facts such as the Earth being round, humans originating with evolution, and, in this case, the numbers of Jews killed during the Holocaust and the methods used. And what makes denying this unique is that it’s most often done with malicious intent, far more so than saying that the Earth is flat or that the Biblical creation story or similar stories are true.

Although Assad gets our critical support for fighting against imperialism, this does not mean we have to condone everything he’s done, including the speech you mentioned.

Our hatred for Zionism and for imperialism does not mean we have to give a single bone to those who downplay or outright deny the Holocaust and other well-documented genocides.

I’ve said it before, I will say it again: People have always complained about the current generation when their own generation was little different and was also complained about.

If somebody who is younger than 16 wants to learn about communism in a semi-ironic way, they could easily do so on Discord or Reddit rather than here. If they don’t find memes about Hoxha or the Shining Path here, they will find it elsewhere.

Some people who are, say, 14 years old are more mature then the average person their age, or even more mature than the average adult. We should judge users by their actions and not their age. If somebody who is 14 follows the rules and acts alright, they should be allowed to stay, they should not be banned from the site just because of their age. If they don’t follow the rules, they should be punished just like somebody who is older.

Negative stereotypes about young people are rampant and I do not believe we should contribute to them in any way, even if it’s as small as banning them from an obscure internet forum.

Stuff like “Gen Alpha is crazy!1!1!1!1!1!1!” to me is not very different from how literally every other generation being complained about so I can safely ignore stuff like that. I don’t see how Gen Alpha is super different from any previous generation when they were around the same age.

For me, the bare minimum is that they don’t believe it is okay to hit children.

I’ve talked about this with my therapist before and it really helped. Tony is 10 years older than me.
