The cognitive dissonance between what people think about the genocide and what politicians and mass media say about it is hard to process and very concerning on top of that.

Today they’re supporting a genocide in Palestine because of geopolitics, and they’re silencing whoever criticizes them. What will it be next time? Possibly abortion or trans/LBTQ rights.

And if genocide against Palestinians is okay, that means the EU doesn’t support universal human rights. So what if next time the enemy is within EU borders, let’s say the enemy is ”migrants“. What stops politicians from genociding them under the pretense of fighting crime / terror / extremism?

The typical kneejerk reaction is that what I’m saying is overly pessimistic or even delusional because such a thing couldn’t be possible. But the precedence has already been set. We’re going down a very dark path very quickly.

That’s probably my bad then because somehow I couldn’t find the part about biases anywhere in the readme. Anyway I get your point and reading your comment again I think that’s a fair point.

You could argue that the point is to conceal your identity and if you suddenly sound like someone else or it’s just really obvious that you ran your text through an LLM then it kinda does the job no? As long as it’s not introducing biases that are connected to your own biases it shouldn’t be an issue.

I have one of those because my teeth sucked and my dentist told me I need to go electric or I’ll probably get gum disease. So now it tells me whenever I should switch to a different area of my teeth. It’s really much better than manual brushing in terms of how polished your teeth get. I don’t think the “AI” part works very well, not even the pressure sensor. I wouldn’t really need it either, just tell me when to switch. It’s also a privacy nightmare but I’m kind of in between giving away my data or risking that my teeth will fall out, so it is what it is.

I think that’s not a dumb question at all. The thing is just that I have a budget and I can order whatever until a certain amount and I’ll get reimbursed, but the stuff will be mine.

Yeah I was thinking about a portable monitor but then I’d still have to bring my private laptop when traveling (I do need it sometimes). That’s why I was wondering if an iPad could do both especially since I’ll get fully reimbursed.

What kind of flakiness did you experience? Was it about picture quality or connectivity? I use universal control every now and then and sometimes it just doesn’t recognize the devices. That’s annoying but I guess I could live with this.

I would almost agree but I’m fascinated how this uncontrolled migration narrative has evolved from the right wing conspiracy it is to becoming a commonly accepted „truth“.

Yes, Germany has done the right thing in 2015 and has shown humanity. Yes, the Dublin process was a massive fuckover and it’s also Germany‘s fault. But then small right wing nations along with our homegrown Nazi movements started throwing tantrums and now the Overton window has moved so far that politicians and media have completely adopted this narrative.

The low wage sector in full force has existed since the introduction of Hartz IV. It also extends to highly skilled jobs such as software engineering. For pretty much every skilled job from blue collar work until AI engineering we can’t find enough people because oftentimes the wages are ridiculous. However even in high skilled jobs this doesn’t mean that companies adjust the wages to create more demand, they just keep complaining that no one wants to work anymore.

Nur weil die Springerpresse abschaum ist, muss man die ja nicht als Maßstab für guten Journalismus nehmen. Guter Journalismus bedeutet, als kontrollierende Instanz der Politik auf die Finger zu schauen. Wenn jetzt aber wie im Falle der ARD ständig Sprachreglungen rausgegeben werden um bestimmte Themen zu Framen dann braucht sich doch keiner wundern, dass das Vertrauen in den ÖRR untergraben wird.

Dazu kommt noch, dass die Rundfunkräte von ARD und ZDF leider bei weitem nicht so repräsentativ für unsere Gesellschaft sind wie es für eine ausgewogene Berichterstattung fördernd wäre. Siehe dazu den Artikel aus Übermedien.

Ich verstehe diese obrigkeitshörige Denkweise nicht. Nur weil ÖRR im Prinzip was gutes ist, unterstützen wir doch kein rechtsextremes Narrativ. Das finde ich ehrlich gesagt ziemlich daneben.

Sorry aber die Lage der Palästinenser ist seit bald 80 Jahren unverändert schlecht und der jetzige Genozid ist nur eine logische Konsequenz aus der andauernden Vertreibung, Unterdrückung, Enteignung und vor allem Entmenschlichung der Palästinenser. Die deutsche Berichterstattung ist und bleibt verzerrt zugunsten des israelischen Narrativs, es wurden und werden immer wieder Propagandalügen der israelischen Regierung unkritisch weiterverbreitet.

Dazu gab es doch auch viele Berichte über das gute alte Framing-Manual der ARD in 2019 und über eine explizite Sprachreglung zum Thema Gaza im Oktober 2023. Hier der ARD Manipulation vorzuwerfen ist leider kein ÖRR-Bashing sondern das aussprechen einer traurigen Wahrheit.

Sowas ist mir auch immer im Kopf. Oder alleine schon Pfefferspray dann kann ich ja auch nichts mehr machen. Laufe ja nicht bewaffnet rum weil ich im Endeffekt einfach nur mein Leben leben will.

Auf Demos gehe ich, daher mein Dilemma. Das fühlt sich immer richtig und gut an. Ich will solche Menschen nur nicht einfach gewähren lassen, andererseits will ich auch nicht den Helden spielen und mich und andere unnötig in Gefahr bringen.

Es hagelt downvotes aber ich denke es ist Teil des Problems dass momentan selbst SPD und Grüne sich an der Anti-Flüchtlingspolitik beteiligen und u.a. Israel im Völkermord Rückendeckung geben. Auf wen soll man da noch hoffen frage ich mich.

Ja leider das und auch wie nahe die CDU, die Polizei, die Justiz & die Behörden teilweise der AFD stehen.

Mach dir keinen Kopf, ich kenne das Gefühl zu gut, aber alleine dass du auf sowas achtest und zu diesem Schritt bereit gewesen bist ist doch was gutes. Man kann halt nicht jedes Mal zur Stelle sein und auch nicht jeden Kampf selbst austragen, die nächste Gelegenheit wird traurigerweise ja sowieso kommen.

Ja da bin ich absolut bei dir. Den Tip, andere Leute mit einzubeziehen finde ich sehr gut. Habe keine Erfahrung damit und kann mir vorstellen, dass die meisten Leute eher beschämt weggucken um bloß nicht in irgendwas reingezogen zu werden, aber immer nur weggucken geht ja auch nicht.
