My assumption is they meant a much thicker rope, but yeah, definitely not as heavy as they say.

0·22 days agoEasy moral patch: These specific goblins have all made unambiguously evil choices that warrant a good slaying. Like kicking dogs. You’re not slaying goblins because they’re goblins, you’re slaying dog-kickers that happen to be goblins. There are plenty of goblins who do not kick dogs, but they’re not a part of this fight.
This is still a political statement that dog kickers are evil. I doubt anyone would mind that, and those that do are better off leaving my table anyway.

0·22 days agoNah, you’d just write up the first level in an Incident Report covering multiple dead demons. And more to the point, both bureaucracy and warfare are forms of politics, so killing demons is still a form of politics, with or without paperwork.

0·22 days agoSo, you want less bureaucracy and more warfare? That’s a pretty bold political statement right there. I’m sure there’s nothing political about war.

RPGMemes @ttrpg.network•I am aware that in the context of the episode this meme is backwards, since we like our Skinner more than "real" SkinnerEnglish
0·28 days agoThe episode is “The Principal and the Pauper”, where the Skinner you know is revealed to be an imposter. At the end of the episode, everyone agrees the real Skinner is a jerk, so they just stick with the imposter and pretend nothing happened.
Which is why it’s backwards. 2014 is represented by a jerk.

0·1 month agoMy first character was based on the classic meme of “an atheist in D&D”. I was then told the setting did not have proven gods, so being atheist was relatively normal. So I stepped it up and didn’t believe in magic either.
It was a fun character to play, honestly.
If only I had the self-confidence of the guy who went to Australia and said “this place is called New South Wales now.”
It’s definitely not a natural pic, but it does date back to at least 3 years ago, so it might just be a photoshop. Not a good photoshop, mind.

0·2 months agoHey, I play in D&D games without my bestie no problem. However, I don’t play in D&D games with people who gaslight my bestie in an attempt to ostracise them. If you didn’t do that, I wouldn’t have left.
I’d say that trying to push someone out of the group, then getting kicked out of the group yourself, is a bit of a backfire.

0·2 months agoIt can also backfire if the other players decide they like them more than you, so they refuse to join the new campaign since the removed player isn’t there. You could lie and tell them the removed player just decided to back out, but since the players like each other, it won’t be long until they start asking why they left, and then everyone knows the truth.
Wizard number 2 about to get fired, I guess.

0·2 months agoIt just occurred to me that Pathfinder is to D&D what Linux is to Windows. More technically complex, less moral baggage, less mainstream and its fans won’t shut up about it.
A tweet from 2019 where someone did a time travel campaign, but accidentally added a mountain that wasn’t there in the present. The players were wondering what happened to the mountain, and the DM was wondering that too. Eventually, they ran a poll, and decided it got up and walked away.
This community, back on reddit, went absolutely nuts over that. There were a LOT of memes.
I remember seeing someone describe a BBEG’s monologue as the DM saying farewell to the character. And yeah, pretty much.

They’re immune to acid but not poison. They have a +2 CON mod, so they can hold their breath for 3 minutes, then have 2 rounds to breathe again or they die. It’s rare for a room to be air-tight in D&D, but if it was, a simple “create bonfire” would do the job.
Also, a mimic dying from smoke inhilation would be awesome.
