But too be fair, Sam only had it for a short time. Also in the movies he also struggles to give it back to frodo (I can’t remember the books). Watch it again and you can see him hesitating and only giving it back when frodo prompts him harsher. Though you could interpret it as him not being sure whether it is a good idea for frodo’s health that frodo gets the ring back. Same with bilbo where Gandalf had to influence him quite a bit.

Could you give some examples? Just curious. I want to see how they differ from male isekai in terms of escapsim. And I don’t mean multiple people like in Sao or Alice in wonderland. I just watched this “project Elise doctor” and what in the world was that? A double isekai? Or a isekaiception? But it definitely was different from when boys/men die.

I think it’s justified, but I don’t necessarily mean it in a negative way. Her competence is certainly an important part of exploring what the series is actually about, namely loss, regret, and what’s really important in life, etc. Which you can have even if you are very powerful.

Now that I think about it. Maybe that’s exactly the reason why it is not competence porn. Maybe her competence is analogous to a sex scene which enhances the actual topic and not the goal itself like how sex is in porn.

On the other hand I certainly watch it for the competency lol

When I watched Frieren the best thing was that it was no fucking isekai. It’s still competence porn, but at least she is not a middle aged man who died lonely in his bedroom. Just a classic fantasy world. Loved it

Ich bin wirklich gespannt, wie sich das in den nächsten >50 Jahren entwickelt. Ich sehe überhaupt keine guten Lösungen, die prektikabel sind. Möglichkeiten:

1. Wir gendern so wie momentan mit dem Sternchen oder dieser seltsamen Pause vor dem innen… Ist aber irgendwie komisch und unterstützt den redefluss nicht
2. Wir gehen (zurück) zum generischen maskulin… Also verwenden nur das… Finds aber schon seltsam, dass einfach ein geschlächt primer ist und das andere extra angezeigt werden muss
3. Wir erfinden eine neue inklusive Endung… Sowas wie ix oder so. Meinix Freundix ist einix meinerix Freundixe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
4. Wir benutzen nur den deminutiv… Der ist doch schon gender neutral. Das Metzgerchen, das Bürgerchenmenschin :)
5. Wir führen alles ins jetzige maskulin zusammen und danach ist maskulinum halt genderneutral. Der Metzger ist dann immer beides und Metzgerin gibt’s nicht mehr. Für alle Berufe denke ich eine gute Lösung… Bei anderen Sachen vlt nicht so
