0·3 days agoDavid Macaulay wrote a series of illustrated books about the construction of various types of historical buildings such as a castle, a cathedral, the pyramids and a few others. The first, Castle was made into a PBS documentary but I’m not sure if any others made the jump.

71·13 days agoValve has been very flexible with device repairs/replacements. I’d try contacting them even if the unit is out of warranty, worst they can do is say no.
One night I was lying in bed around midnight, trying to get to sleep when a bolt struck a hundred feet or so down the street from me. It was spring so I had the windows open and it was fucking loud. Took me a while to calm down and start to doze off again, so of course that’s when the fire engines arrived to investigate the scene with their sirens going full blast.
