I’m back! In Hexbear form!

NASA tends to drip feed this sort of stuff, because every time they release a paper talking about how there is a .5% chance that life might exist on Mars based on new data, the news media is all “OMG LIFE FOUND ON MARS?! ALIENS CONFIRMED>!?!” and then when the scientists clarify that they aren’t saying that, the public gets mad at them and not the sensationalist media lying about it.
This isn’t that surprising, a lot of guys still have the attitude that it makes you “weak” when you talk about mental health with other people, and a lot of guys in turn don’t have anyone in their lives they are comfortable being vulnerable around.
Additionally, unlike an IRL therapist, who might give you things to actually work on and improve about yourself, AI will just provide comfort with no demands of self improvement to fix your problems.
Voiced by Bill Nye the Science Guy so you know he is smart and correct.
Aerial drone, and I wasn’t being too serious, as you can probably tell by the second part of my comment.
What benefit is there to having a soldier pilot a humanoid robot over a regular kind of drone? The drone is more mobile, can carry much heavier weaponry, and can be used for scouting as well as regular battlefield use. While having remote control Gundams would be the coolest thing ever, I just don’t think it would ever be practical enough compared to drones.
On the other hand, the larger payload and durability of a dirigible craft is far superior to a fixed wing aircraft like a plane, they can fly much further afield and carry a much heavier payload, and the act of controlling them is far less taxing than a biplane, or heaven forbid, a triplane. The Kaiser is a fool for investing in this new dead end technology.
He didn’t even techinically break any laws, he’s just really annoying and Australia is sick of him.
This isn’t necessarily fiction, it’s a threat. This is their goal, this is what they plan on working towards with China. They recognise they can’t compete with them economically, so they’re going to leverage the west’s soft power to try and destroy them. I don’t know how well it will work, since the west’s soft power is also waning, and racist anti-China attitudes are only really prevalent in the west, but it isn’t a good idea to underestimate them.
It’s probably just the usual thing the west does, as western systems and social safety nets collapse (healthcare, in this case) they need to distract the population, so they go for the tried and tested “Sure, things are bad, but Bad Guy Country is worse!”
Whew, I was almost worried I’d look bad by comparing my personal strain of idealistic socialism (it’s basically the Nordic model but better) to China. But thankfully they fail my purity test, which means I don’t have to actually learn about any of their accomplishments or achievements and can just call them bad guys. I hate the US too though, but I’m glad they tell me the truth when it comes to China, very nice of them.
Bro, how can someone debunk your argument when it isn’t even bunked?
A couple of years? This lib is going to be so scratched by being called out for their racism here, they’ll be calling ICE within the week.
Is this him trying to state the obvious so people forget the “bad takes” (transphobia) he’s been spouting recently?
Or is he aware that people are pissed off at him and he says something obvious that contradicts what he normally says to cause conflict and engagement?
