Is all I needed to hear. Dude was kicked to the curb by his riding, should have packed up and gone home. Politics shouldn’t be a lifelong career.

I label my alarms but then reuse them and instead of deleting the old thing I often just type the new thing. My 7am alarm for awhile was ground beef Shania Twain crossbow boots.

I have a gas stove but the last few places I lived the electric stove was a 240v. Still available I’m sure (?) but not cheap on the shelf at cantire.

How did you come across this knowledge?

I shouldn’t lol but lol I can’t imagine how that poll would look, no way to come up with a non-bias creating question I’d guess.
But hateful people of all types are always way louder than the rest of us. And yes, lots of propaganda and legitimate fears will push some into the wrong. But I’m betting, just like the general population, the Jewish population is mostly good. All the ones I know and associate with certainly are.

Actually, not even the majority…

Only boot licker is OANN, which I didn’t know counted but yeah, that tracks.

I’m very sad that story didn’t have a happy ending where they were both hit by a bus or got arrested in a drug sting.
I’m glad that was your old apartment friend.

The headline is doing exactly that. My first reaction was “of course some asshole is, probably a conservative.” And then I clued into the photo and recognized the buffoon. If I wasn’t a Canadian, or didn’t have the picture, or maybe wasn’t good with faces, I would have scrolled by not realizing the idiot in question iis the leader of the Conservative Party.
A responsible headline would have said that. It might as well have said “A random white guy from Canada is openly spreading propaganda.” I mean it’s a true headline right? Not misleading at all.

This article mentions his roommate/romantic partner, and much later in the article it does say they are trans (later makes sense cause it shouldn’t f-ing matter)
I am aware that at this point all “evidence” that isn’t publicly verifiable (his Facebook relationships? Multiple friends verifying, ect.) is super suspect as we sadly know this government and the authorities involved will be bending every truth exactly how they please. But that’s the info we have right now.

What are your thoughts on his roommate, who was transitioning/his girlfriend?
Please don’t take this like the memes “is anybody nearby trans?!?!” But the few podcasts I listen to (and trust to be more or less objective) reported on this, and while it an incredible leap of logic (and absolutely immoral, wrong and disgusting) to then decide Trans people are a terrorist group, does it not imply his ideology wasn’t the ultra right winger killing someone for being less right wing?
I probably will regret posting this because frankly it’s too depressing and the truth doesn’t even matter in regards to the outcomes… The USA is not OK.

I loved that logo. Thanks for the reminder I wonder if I still have that pin…

I don’t even know what you are arguing then.

So make the lanes narrower and add speed bumps to slow people down, and also make a passing lane for every speed bump and expect assholes not to use it? Almost as clueless a suggestion as the generic “just redesign every street and intersection in every city to make driving faster impossible!”
Barriers have their place and I don’t mind having a narrowing area and speed bumps in front of a school or in a parking lot or whatever. But in a lot of places a camera is a simpler, cheaper, easier, better solution.
And a fire truck or Ambulance is quite capable of going 20-30 above a speed limit in an emergency most times of day and days of the week. I think as a society we take that small increased risk, balancing it with sirens and special driver training, so that people can have help arrive as fast as possible.

Hey you are right. A cop would have a stronger, more immediate affect. For the 8 hours they are sitting there. And while they aren’t out of their car giving a ticket/letting their buddy or a hot chick off with a warning.
Cameras work. They are there 24/7. They don’t discriminate.
Are they a replacement for an officer driving the streets? Nope. How come there wasn’t an officer at that construction site or nearby to catch that 10x offender? Is it because it’s incredibly difficult and resource intensive to do so?
I got a ticket when they changed the speed limit on a road I traveled daily twice in under a year and then added a camera. So speed change was 60-40, and I got a letter in the mail and a ticket for going 50. I was just going with traffic. I knew there was a new camera but every day day after day, you just start driving with traffic.
Well after that ticket, I stopped being lazy and started actually driving. And over the next month or so I could see who had gotten a ticket and who hadn’t yet. And slowly traffic shifted down to the point where I was going with the flow of traffic again, enough people had either got a ticket or had got used to driving behind someone who had that everyone chilled out and started observing the limit.
That’s how these cameras work. A cop could be parked there for years and not have that affect, and also a cop couldn’t park there and wouldn’t have anywhere to pull someone over without creating major traffic problems.

Why? Why should I have to drive over speed bumps when I am happy going the limit? A camera doesn’t affect me, narrow lanes and speedbumps suck and make driving less pleasant. What happens when a fire truck or ambulance is trying to get to an emergency?

Is it urine? Sometimes it’s that…

Nope. No excuse for me, thanks for the correction.

Which is totally what the CEO was planing to do anyways and definitely wasn’t because he was caught on camera and then publicly shamed.
I feel bad for the birds.
But I should have been feeling that way last fuxking year when they needed to be put down. Those people risked wild and farm birds and human health and safety for months and the outcomes were A: they got lucky and the survivors were not infected or B: shit gets real and those assholes felt they had the right to take that risk for all of us.
This is the drunk driver who made it home saying “it’s fine see nothing happened.”
I’m sure they won’t face appropriate consequences but at least their behaviour wasn’t rewarded any longer.
