I’m from US and I re-read “developing countries like us or India” like 3 times and then I realized that you’re absolutely right.

I honestly don’t know enough about it but I’m sure there’s a way, maybe get isp’s to flag traffic going to known vpn servers and fine them if they connect users or something like that?
Why, is it impossible or difficult to enforce?
Don’t want them to ban vpns
Cool so it actually sucks, it’s not my incompetence
I use discord but i can’t stand it as a platform for discussion. Forums, even reddit, seem so superior to me as a format for discussion and storing information. Maybe I haven’t figured out discord yet
A vasectomy.
Edit: sorry I get it now. I got peace of mind knowing that I was in control of contraception. Not having children means a lot of freedom. So basically freedom and peace of mind.
I am squeamish as all hell. Didn’t think I could do it. There’s a consult. They give you a Xanax, I’d recomme r telling them you’re a heavyweight and get a driver, also recommend to pay the extra 100 bucks for the laughing gas.
It’s over fast. There’s minimal pain. I ordered a jock strap and used it to hold ice packs over my underwear. It’s uncomfortable but I just layed up all weekend. Overall what I got out of it is completely worth it.
I’ll answer any questions you have
I’ve set up an off grid solar system out of necessity. Used to be an electrician so I know a good bit (but not everything by any means). What are your questions I can maybe point you in the right direction.
Based on your initial question, it depends on local zoning. You can likely legally grid tie a set up and have a battery backup. I think if you want to be legal I’d go that route.
If you want I think you could set up a completely separate system in a more sneaky fashion that is completely isolated from the grid / your existing house circuitry. But when grid tying (including into your house circuitry) you have to be pretty safe because that power can go upstream and feed the grid or the house when workers think the power is off, which is obviously very dangerous and could get you in a lot of trouble if it went wrong.
One data point and I’m American, but figured I’d give my two cents on why I did it.
In addition to all the reasons you listed I think that my own mental health is an obstacle, and also the increasingly limited access to women’s healthcare.
Making the decision to not have kids was a complex issue for me as I imagine it is for others too. Tbh the political and economic climate was probably the final push I needed, but there’s probably at least 10 reasons in total.
What’d you switch to I usually just go w cloudflare
Makes sense, I’m in the same boat I don’t have time or energy to start one but I’d join.
For getting started w tactical barbell, do you recommend books etc? Like 531 it seems like there’s a lot to it, any good resources?
I’ll check it out. I feel like I’m still making strength gains w BBB, gonna ride it out another 4-8 months. I’ll check out tactical barbell operator, thanks for the suggestion
Do you know if any active fitness communities on Lemmy? I briefly looked around but didn’t see any that seemed active
Do you still run 531 for beginners? I’ve been on BBB for 4 months and finally broke through a plateau. Was doing more hypertrophy and calisthenics before that.
The workload for BBB has gotten so high for me that I do my main lifts and 1-3 accessories on lower days and 2-4 in upper and I’m cooked. Can’t manage to follow wendlers scheme of shitload of reps any more
On a bright note I’m optimistic that ai bloated garbage and advertising will eventually push a critical mass of people to using decentralized and open source tools, or possibly that non-profits and co-ops will start to spring up to manage more ethical services that could potentially replace the mainstream ones.
When you’re not trying to make some dude disgustingly richer, you don’t need a ton of advertising (imo).
I also think tech workers should unionize. On a darker note, I think outsourcing/offshoring post-covid is going to kill any unions viability. You need bargaining power (withhold your labor) and I’m not sure that will exist for this trade because of how easy it will be to find workers.
