  • 4, because I work partly remote so there have been occasions where I have no reason to leave the house or see another person for four days. I’m introverted so it’s kind of nice, but it’s probably not healthy

Edit: and my dog is not mine: I share custody with my ex (it’s actually her dog) so that’s only half a week

  • Maybe it’s your brand and source. I see sizes becoming less consistent, more brand specific. Men’s sizes used to be consistent but now it depends on brand.

    • I get brands known for being over resized, because I need them and they’re more comfortable
    • a lot of “normal” brands I have to size up, and ts still less comfortable
    • others, notably cheap or souvenir t-shirts I might size up twice, or it may not be comfortable at any labelled size

However I’m taller than average which is part of it. For a cheap brand with no tall sizes, I might size up twice, it might even be hanging off me as oversized, yet way too short

  • Apple Watch specifically has a mode for when it’s turned off that shows you the time when you tap the screen

There’s a general thing throughout tech where off isn’t off. This is one of those cases where “off” is just a low power mode, but you can still turn it off for real. This is not specific to Apple Watch at all.

There’s some grains of truth in the rant

    • too many devices don’t turn off by default
    • voice assistants listen to everything by default and are very good at picking out voices
    • and yes there was research that with a special setup researches were able to use WiFi to “see” through walls

But you can turn off always listening or otherwise remove voice assistants from your life. You can turn off devices. And you can gain perspective that researchers doing something clever doesn’t necessarily translate to every device doing it.

Be more afraid of the personal data you’re “willingly” giving away. From profiles to location to listening/watching reading content and times to opinions and associations

  • Cast iron is extremely forgiving of improper treatment. And even if it eventually rusts, you can fix it. I’ve been using cast iron as my primary skillets since pandemic. I know I don’t treat them like I should, but they’re not yet rusted, still have an easy to clean surface that food doesn’t stick to. I’ll probably have to reseason eventually but if that’s not until I’d normally have to replace non-stick, I’m way ahead without putting in any extra work

Edit: sure, standard three cast iron skillets, and cast iron Dutch oven. I also have a set of stainless pans, and some induction ready non-stick for company
