Women USUALLY have less problems showing vulnerable emotions like crying, people, even sometimes strangers will ask her if everything’s fine… Boys on the other hand can’t show weakness, especially adults. You’re a failure or less of a man if you cry and you need to keep it all inside. If you’re a family man it’s even worse, you’re usually the rock of the family.

It’s mostly women who enforce this behavior, not men. If you want to call that patriarchy, I think you’re applying the term a little too broadly

Depends on where you are. It is an idea that originated from patriarchal structures and is today enforced by both men and women. Patriarchy fucks us all, let’s dismantle it.

Right, and that leads to issues with men seeking help. Men don’t get needed therapy at the same rate, and our suicide rates are way higher. So I guess one can answer your original question with: women can get help without as much social stigma.

Note to anyone reading: It’s not weak to see a physical therapist, so it’s not weak to see a mental one. You see a therapist to be strong, regardless of the which part of your body (muscles or brain) you’re training. You also don’t need to be having an issue in order to get therapy. Sometimes it’s just nice to talk through everyday things, and learn ways to cope with small things.
